The 2nd CD is unreal! Great stereo from over 9 live Woodstock 1969 performances that include extended jams. Three amazing vocalists blend together as one. Great instrumentals. The crowd really listened and only got loud when they yelled for an encore, which The Airplane provided them and us with. This is symbolic of the Love Generation and an example of true Classic Rock. When I get to the 1st CD, which I think is studio, I'm sure that I'll continue to be stoked.Free Music Review: A defining moment!

I've waited at least 37 years to hear this, ever since I heard (and fell in love with) the Woodstock 2 performances. This blows me away. The ragged edges just add to the stellar fury the Airplane played with that ecstatic morning in 1969. What a way to wake up! Bonus? The sketch for Hijack they play at the end of The Ballad of You & Me & Pooneil. This is a very moving performance. Get it! So you get another copy of Volunteers -the price is right! Anyone notice that the sound is different than the director's cut woodstock film? I am sure they were recorded by different engineers at the same time that day?
Why did Amazon raise the price $1 last night????? ARRGGHH!! The world is already expensive enough. Amazon is the last bastion of fairly reasonably priced cd's, please don't change Amazon!!!!

It's been well over 30 years since listening to the Airplane. I must say === Volunteers + live at Woodstock made me realize just how extraordinary the Jefferson Airplane were !!!
Politically astute, progressive musically, the Airplane upon reflection are/were a most amazing band. Period.

I'll keep this simple -- The live, Woodstock version of "Volunteers" completely blows the studio version out of the water. And that's typical of the Woodstock performances.
