Free Music Notes for J.LoFree Music Review: "J.Lo" Stronger than "On The 6" Hit: 5 StarsI was pleasantly surprised when I first heard the tracks on J.Lo On The 6 had mostly slow ballads about love while this time around there are only a few slow ballads that I simply love. There are spanish tracks, R&B tracks, Techno Tracks.. everything! I also think that many of the songs on J.Lo were about Puffy. Jennifer co-wrote some of the songs and you can really tell that they were having some problems. Anyway, It's a good party album and here are a review of some of the songs--1) Love Don't Cost A Thing: Good song with a good beat. The video was also great and most of you probably know it already. The single went to number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. 2) I'm Real: The beginning starts off peaceful and slow and then it progresses into a good beat. One of the songs I believe were for Puffy... or P.DIDDY. P.Diddy is on the track saying "She's a bad bad bi***" good song 3) Play: Her current single which is hot! The beginning is hot and it's one of the techo-ish songs on the album. Lyrics are simple, but good club song. 4) Walking oN Sunsine: I love this song! It's one of my favorites. Jennifer's voice actually songs pretty good and the beat is nice but slow. It will have you singing along! Probably one of her future singles. 5) Ain't It Funny: Jennifer wrote this song and is going to be her next single. I believe that this song was meant for her current boyfriend Chris Judd, which is one of her dancers. It's got a latin beat to it and it's a good song. 9) That's not me: has a dramatic beginning to it and it stays that way. Very good song and will have you singing along to it in no time. 11) Secretly: One of the slow songs on the album. It's one of my fave songs because it's exactly what I'm going through right now. SHe also sings it very well! 13) That's the way: I like this song! The intrusments sound very funky and will also probably be a future single. Well, I do reccommend that you buy this album. It's got a lot of dancing tracks and the few slow songs on the album are actually good. It's good to see that she can craft herself a good album and act just as well.
Free Music Review: J.LO!! Hit: 5 StarsI LOVE Jennifer Lopez!!!!This album is great!!!But I think her old album has a better sound! My fave songs are "Love Don't Cost A Thing" and "Play"!!!!!I hope J.Lo's next single would be "I'm Real"!!!!
Free Music Review: Delightful mix of latin, pop, techno - great dance music Hit: 5 StarsUnlike the first album of Jennifer Lopez (On The 6), which is essentially pop-feel, J. Lo is a slightly different mosaic of the rousing rhythms of latin, the catchy sounds of pop and energy of techno, which surprsingly works out to be an interesting listening experience. The tracks flow well into one another despite that they may belong to different genres of music. This could be due to the fast tracks sharing a similar feel of vigor and the rich, full sounds. The album could not be more appealing if you like dance music. More than half of this album is comprised of upbeat tracks (latin, pop, hip hop and techno) that you can easily groove to. Some critics have panned Jennifer Lopez on her weak vocals. However the focus of the album should be on the music. Granted her voice is not exactly enthralling, it manages to sound pleasant and complements excellently with her modest style of vocal delivery. This album has such energetic vibes that I actually use it during jogging and aerobics. Highly recommended if you like dance music.
Free Music Review: I usually only review real music, but... Hit: 2 StarsOut of boredom, I borrowed this album from a female friend of mine, who professed liking it. Well, meaningless slick pop drivel is not really my thing, so I predictably did not like it, however it was not as ridiculous as I had predicted. So I give it 2 stars, because I have heard worst things from people who only do music, not movies, clothes, and god-knows-what-else. Good, slick production. Style over substance, as is pretty much the norm in most popular entertainment these days, be it music, cinema, or even sports. Well, I am not the target audience for this type of music, so perhaps I am not a wise one to judge it. Still, it disturbs me to see all the 5 star ratings thrown around for this album and so many more recent offerings. People say, "it was pretty cool" and then give it 5 stars. 5 stars should be for albums of the absolute finest quality, revolutionary or at least stellar in the presentation. I think the measure of a 5 star album is: will people be listening to or talking about this music in 5 years and beyond? But I'm sure most of the reviewers of music like this are quite young, not that young people are lacking intelligence and taste (well, maybe taste), but that the young are predictably extreme in their reactions to things. 6 months from now half the 5 star ratings would say, "oh, like I'd listen that that old stuff now." I've always admired Jennifer Lopez's onscreen work. I think she has great charisma and presence onscreen, and she is an effective and believable actress. My advice to her: stick to being Jennifer Lopez the actress, and let J Lo the "musical artist" rest in peace.
Free Music Review: Don't Get Too Excited Hit: 3 StarsWhile I admit that the first four tracks or so are wonderful, the rest is just Jennifer trying to prove that she's a big girl because she can write songs. The Spanish songs are o.k. because she's Latin but I don't think you should put Spanish and English songs all on the same album. I think she should do a Spanish album like Christina Aguleria. If you're a hard-core J.Lo fan then you SHOULD buy the album but if you only kinda like her you should burn the cd from a friend, don't pay money.
