Free Music Notes for Jerky Boys 3Free Music Review: What's up with that delivery boy? Hit: 5 Stars
Starting with track 1, you know the Jerky Boys didn't slow down. As Rizzo rants about a Santa Claus-dressed delivery boy who, er, accosted him, you know it's gonna get nasty, and funny.
Could be the best Jerky disc, actually, as they retread the usual cast of characters and go above and beyond the call of prank calling duty with new characters, and even new set-ups where they place ads in the papers and wait for victims to call. Who said prank calling wasn't hard work?
Aside from irate, blue-collar Queens resident Frank Rizzo (who often gets the best rants out, including one about his annoying son's upcoming birthday), we have the fragile Sol Rosenberg (some of the funniest moments in this disc) as well as the psychotic Kissel, and the flamboyant Jack Tors. New additions include Big Ol' Badass Bob the Cattle Rustler (why didn't he do this character again?) and one track from Curly G, an inept rapper (funny, but like most of Kamal's tracks, it runs out of steam quick).
Johnny B, who did most of the characters, has to be a comic genius. The guy comes up with some choice lines, and thinks his way out of inquiries in a second, always with a vulgar sentiment thrown in. For fans of the first two albums, or even of the classic, Oscar-robbed film, this is a must.
Free Music Review: Great album! Hit: 5 Stars
This album is on par with Jerky Boys 2. "Angry Camper's Dad" is riotous. You'll probably fall down from laughing when you hear that clip. Frank calls up a camp to complain that other kids have been picking on his son. He's says the other kids have been taking dumps in Mikey's (Frank's son's) laundry bag and have been "jagging" Mikey with a baseball bat. It's absolutely hilarious. "1-800-How's My Driving" is quite possibly the funniest Jerky Boys clip ever. Frank Rizzo calls up one of those 1-800 numbers listed on the back of trucks. He wants to complain about a truck driver that backed up over his legs several times. Although Frank can't remember the name of the business, he does recall that some swill was dripping out of the back of the truck. It's so funny!!! "TV Repair" is also great. Kissel calls up a department store to complain about a TV he just bought there. Anyway, while he's on the phone Pico is trying to fix the set. Pico almost gets electrocuted. You'll love it!!!
Free Music Review: The Last Hurrah Hit: 5 Stars
This is the last great Jerky Boys album, and it basically marks the time they 'jumped the shark' and faded afterwards into mediocrity.
While there are many great characters on display (including a few fun new ones, like Bob The Cattle Rustler and Curly G.), the album belongs to the immortal Sol Rosenberg. His 'Lawn Equipment Debate' call is probably the funniest bit the Jerkys have ever done, and amazingly, it's done without vulgarity or mean-spiritedness. If you need to prove to someone that the Jerkys are more than just foul-mouthed punks with no comic skill, that's the call to show them.
'Lawnmower Sale' is a close second, featuring hilarious ranting from Bob The Cattle Rustler. You'll be quoting that call for weeks.
As always, Kamal's calls are mostly dead weight ('Stop That,' 'Tarbash's New Shoes,' etc.), but they're easily skipped to get to the good stuff. If you're a fan of prank-calling, this is as good as it gets.
Free Music Review: BRILLIANT!!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is absolutly hilarious! I don't need to write a big review since all that can be said is that it is wonderful! My favorite line of all is in "Lawnmower Debate" where the man is asking about what kinds of lawnmower equipment Sol Rosenberg has and [the man] says "It says here that you've got a lawnmower, a chainsaw, and a log splitter..." Sol responds in a shocked tone: "OH MY GOD!", pauses, " Yes I do." But the funniest call is "Sol's Chainsaw Shock (Part 1)" You have to hear it to belive it, trust me! An absolute must buy for tons of laughs!!!!
Free Music Review: Jerky boys are the best Hit: 5 Stars
No.3 is the best i've ever seen, I laughed till I cried and felt like I coudn't breaththe call in which tarbash is screaming that his cat is ripping his shoe apart put me into hysteria, and it was certainly inventive of them to get they're victims to call thembig ol bad ass BOb, is the funniest new addition, these guys get better and better.I've got all their albums and won't stop buying them ever.I'm also creating my own jerky boys site in tribute to the two funniest people I have ever listened to. I may be one of they're biggest fans around.
