I have all of the Jerky Boy's cds and this is by far my favorite. A few of my friends remind me of Frank Rizzo!
Free Music Review: 50ccs of humor injected directly into your pineal gland Hit: 4 Stars
lowbrow? homophobic? probably!
...but if you think these laughs are some sort of accurate pillory of gay people, you've missed the point. The reason these two pranksters took off, had more to do with their acumen for impromptu language; beautiful turns of phrase that were concise, memorable and startling. Like the Marx Bros, they show that there's quite an art to blending absurdity and contempt. Most who attempt the two are boorish, but the JBs prove there's an art to it. Some of the phrases they came up with still make me laugh. And their credulous call recipients pre-date the current examination of how dumb people have become.
"(unspellable, incredulous, contemptible noise) ...way downtown fruitcake!"
Free Music Review: Jerky Boys - self-titled (Select Records) Hit: 4 Stars
Loved the movie and always get a big jolt out of the CD.Some unforgetable lines from those two jobless 20-something ace phone pranksters:"Hey,tough guy, this better important!I'm having my little toe nails done here, you nookie-licker!What kind of a fruity operation are you running there anyway, sugar pants?".This is prime material to stick on your answering machine or to perhaps leave on someone's voice mail at 2am.Some more lines:"They call me Rubberneck!Because whenever I go off the handle,I get my dog to bite your b***s off,I'll break off your legs and shove 'em up your ass!!I'm silly that way, silly!!".Outrageous humor for those who can appreciate just that.A should-have.
Free Music Review: Crack your ribs laughing Hit: 4 Stars
Do we got somethin goin here or what? Are we in business? Hey I'm good, I'm silly with that, toughguy. I'd love to fill this review with F-bombs but the rules of the Amazon prohibit that. Not the rules of the Jerky Boys though. Jerky Boy Johnny is the funniest guy in Queens, whether he is Frank Rizzo, Mikey Rutterman or Pat Darucki. Before Crank Yankers there were these guys from the late 80's-early 90's. Still the kings. A must buy for telemarketers and those who make their living on the phone. Teaches great tips. The real deal honey baby.
