Free Music Review: Good, but could have been much better

This album had incredible potential, but it fell short of expectations. However, there are some memorable clips of the 5th installment of the Jerky Boys.Frank's Pickles is hilarious. Frank Rizzo calls up an old cranky lady who sells pickles. When Frank accuses her of calling him to order pickles, she becomes incensed. It's uproarious!
Willie the Jackass is also pretty funny, as is Masturbation Box. In Masturbation Box, Sol Rosenberg calls up a company and asks them to weld him into a box so that he can masturbate. Sol nearly starts crying when they laugh at him. It's hilarious!
The Hucklebuck and Super Gay are also quite humorous.
However, I must admit that some of the clips are really stupid. Duck Cleaning and Synchronized Swimming are both really .... I don't know how they even made it onto this album. They aren't funny - they're just really annoying.

People complain that the Jerky Boys have run out of ideas and that the people catch on to the prank about halfway through many of the calls. That is true, but I think that is what makes this one of the most interesting & hilarious collections since the original album. No, they are no longer fooling people as much, but it adds a new dynamic with the prankees knowing they are being screwed with and the Boys actually get more inventive just trying to make them laugh. It gives them a direct audience to respond to and they actually get funnier as a result. It's a different kind of prank call album that runs dry in parts but is fresher & funnier than their last two releases.Free Music Review: It's worth buying

I think the Jerky Boys are some of the funniest comedians out there, I still have not been disappointed with any of their albums like some seem to have been. I think this new one is a great addition to any fans collection. Sol has some very memorable quotes that I bring up with my friends all the time, "SOL damn you! SOL!" Tarbash makes a funny appearance when he is confused as to whether or not he was eating or driving the cab, "I drive cab into your building , yes I in their earlier and you short change me." After reading the other reviews here about this CD , I hesitated to buy it. After buying and listening to it a few times, I am happy I made that choice. Yes, there are a few on here that are not really funny at all, but many really good ones. Sol Rosenberg and Tarbash are still great ! Give it a listen and make your own decision. I think the Jerky Boys should keep making more prank call albums like this. The Frank's Pickle Barrel Ass and Masturbation Box were my two favorite calls. Willie the Jackass and the Chicken trilogy calls were my least favorite. All and all it was a pretty good album.
