Loaded the good ol ipod shuffle up on GD music tonight, and "mission in the rain" off of this cd popped up first. Wow! Jumped back to itunes to see what CD this track was off of, and lo-and behold "Don't let go". I can't for the life of me even remember when I got this album, but now I'm re-aqqanting myself with each and every track. The other reviews are on the mark, start from the beginning and see how this show progresses. Tight. Innnovative. Solid. This CD is not for deadheads only. Garcia's playing on this disc is nothing short of spectacular. There is a fullfilling sense to these songs that is peaceful and soothing and yet suddenly sneaks up on you and is just electric. There is also a great feeling of faith and a sort of brotherhood showing on this release that is wonderful. Anyone who enjoys light blues & rock with a dose of white gospel should give this a listen.Free Music Review: Get it

I just wanted to express that this is a live recording. The reviewer below gave this album 3 1/2 stars because there was too much space between the songs, lack of editing, and the sound wasn't studio. Those are the reasons why this album should be purchased. Unadulterated JGB is the best. I can only hope that more future releases come out soon. If they are half this good, they would be worth it. Some very nice moments with the Garcia Band. It's nice to get a high quality Garcia Band disc, complete show too, to complement the more frequently released Dick's Picks series. A sticker on the packaging promises another JGB release later this year. This might be the best JGB live release so far. Jerry Garcia was in his prime in 1976. His guitar prowess and tasteful arrangements are well represented here.Free Music Review: we live for this

it is impossible to not feel good while listening to this cd. this is what it is all about. you can get lost in every song, but you know jerry will bring you back.... less structured and more aimless than in later years, who wants structure??? recommended for jgb fans and as an introduction to anyone who wonders what the fuss was all about. is it perfect? no. thats why we keep coming back.
