Free Music Review: Elegant New Age-Hispano-Arab fusion
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a remarkable CD; vigorous and dreamy all at once. A very elegant fusion of Arabic, Spanish Flamenco and contemporary electronic New Age sound. Having been raised with both Spanish and Arabic music I particularly appreciate the skillfull and dramatic transformation and fusion of these ancient sounds with modern textures by the hand of this capable musician. I can only hope we will hear lots more of him in the coming years

Free Music Review: Creative and cultural guitar sounds by a talented artist.
Hit: 5 Stars

I really liked this CD because of several reasons. I love instrumental guitar and this CD sounds like it has a unique origin. There are some slow and some upbeat songs. The slow songs are beautiful and romantic, while the upbeat songs make you want to celebrate life. It's perfect for times you want to relax or if you have friends over for dinner. I would recommend this CD to anyone who likes creative and cultural music.

Free Music Review: Gigantic if underappreciated talent
Hit: 5 Stars

Cook's music is impossible to classify.

It is not New Age, and not Jazz, two categories into which critics have tried to crush his great talent.

The music is a blend of flamenco, classical Spanish guitar, and Latin American folk music with the enthusiasm and energy of Miami Sound Machine.

This is great guitar music. You would do yourself a disservice not to go buy every album.

Free Music Review: Brilliant...
Hit: 5 Stars

I got this CD for Christmas and I was immediately drawn to it. It has so much variety as far as the rythmns go. There is middle eastern rythmns and music on songs such as Byzantium Underground and Cajun rythmns on the song That's Right! He has an excellent ear for the percussion sounds and the overall sound of the album is very open, like it was recorded in a ball room!

Free Music Review: Yes, Jesse "Cooks"!
Hit: 5 Stars

Being a huge fan of Jesse's from his previous albums, Vertigo was much anticipated and never fails to deliver! In typical Canadian fashion, he remains virtually unknown in his native country. Vertigo is just now getting airplay, mostly the "Fragile" track, and, unfortunately, largely due to Holly Cole's vocals. Buy this album... you won't be disappointed!
