Free Music Notes for VertigoFree Music Review: First time listener is head over heels for Cook! Hit: 5 Stars
I heard a video on PBS and ran to see it, was totally taken by the "Rattle and Burn" music and a great video! Made a determined trip to find it and in Oklahoma was a little tough! But I have it now and am adding his others to my listening pleasure!! He is one of the best guitar sounds I have heard in long time....Love him and now a LOYAL fan!!!!!!
Free Music Review: Something Different, Something Great Hit: 5 Stars
I was introduced to the music of Jesse Cook by a friend. Usually new music has to grow on me before I realize I like it. In this case I was immediately drawn to the music and enjoyed it from the word go. I especially like the opening number on Vertigo. It is so fun and lively. Almost seems like a spontaneous production, very candid and personal.
Free Music Review: Purely enjoyable Hit: 5 Stars
This guy can play the guitar. Pure and simple, some of his rips will drop your jaw. Couple that with a very percussive backbeat, some Middle-Eastern touches on some songs, some Latin and flamenco on others, and it makes a wonderful combinate. Add the wonderful and sultry Holly Cole on vocals on "Fragile" and it makes for a great album.
Free Music Review: A dancing celebration of life Hit: 5 Stars
This would count as an extremely fortunate introduction to an extraordinary musician. In our house, we dance through the day with this music. Somehow Jesse Cook is not just someone who plays in a certain style; every track is it's own unique self with vibrancy, life, and every vivid color. Truly a wonderful find to add to the joy of life.
Free Music Review: New Flamenco that cooks! Hit: 5 Stars
This new album is worth it for the few minutes of Buckwheat Zydeco on "That's right!" alone. If Jesse Cook was an American, the entire music loving world would know of him. I am not too crazy about the inclusion of Sting's "Fragile" at the end. We could have been spared that. But the rest : phew!
