Free Music Review: An eclectic mix of hot acoustic guitar work Hit: 4 Stars
Jesse Cook's "Vertigo" quite simply lives up to his name, it "cooks". You've got to think that the song "That's Right" that opens the CD is just flat out catchy, "kick-butt" music with Buckwheat Zydeco calling the signals. Other tracks are crafted with the utmost care, from ballads to Flamenco saturated "jazz", this is a an enjoyable disc that will probably want to make you want to add to your Jesse Cook compilation, if it it does'nt already exsist. The gentleman can play guitar.
Free Music Review: Just when you thought you're over this CD ... Hit: 4 Stars
This is not Jesse Cook's best CD (Gravity), but overall it is still so good it remains as an essential to every acoustic guitar enthusiast. Just check out the flames in 'Rattle and Burn' and the meditative power of 'Breating Below Surface'. I didn't like the final cut in this CD, 'Fragile' ... but if you're patient enough to get through it ... you'll hear a hidden track at 4:23. If you like this performer you're in for an awesome surprise ... it's got to be his most demanding and involving rumba flamenco piece so far.
