Free Music Review: This is the kind of music you hear and wonder who it is! Hit: 4 Stars
When you hear this music, you'll wonder who did it and what is his name, well it's Jesse Cook and don't forget it. This is just one of three and the two are as good or better, depending on your personal taste. I have had to buy several copies of all three of Jesse's CD's as once they are heard by a friend, I seem to loose them by either giving it away or it just never gets returned. It is that kind of music. You'll like it!
Free Music Review: It's OK 2 Stars
I have heard all of these new age, nouveau flamenco artists. Eg. Ottmar, Jesse, Strunz etc....... They don't come close to the original, interesting and excellent guitar sounds of Alex Fox. Alex Fox is the best of the best.... If you like these guys, you're going to LOVE ALEX FOX.
Free Music Review: Another bad imitation unleashed Hit: 1 Stars
It's very funny how this guy keeps on showing up on so called "flamenco" recordings. In my opinion he is only following a tired genre created by the likes of Ottmar Leibert, John Tesh, and Kenny G. All in search of a quick buck on the backs of a naive audience. Hopefully consumers will wise up and try to listen to something that has real emotions contained on it, and without frilly names like "Breeze from Saintes Maries". Poco ruido y poco duende!
Free Music Review: There is no such thing as a flamenco purist Hit: 1 Stars
Flamenco from the start has always been about fusion, the mixing of the Gypsy with the Andalusian, the folkloric with the creation of the old with the new. Contrary to some uniformed Americans, Flamenco is not a dead art; it is in constant evolution. Jesse Cook is a good artist but what he does isn't Flamenco in any shape or form. His playing is closer to Manitas de Plata.
