Free Music Review: Jessica's best album to date!

Jessica Simpson. We've seen Jessica evolve over the years from b-rated music star to a-list bonified celebrity. But while Jessica's fame has grown tremendously over the past few years, her music is not always the focus. But with "A Public Affair", her music is at it's all time best and she finally puts out some real good POP music and now her music is the focus.
I'm almost 100% sure that most of the people who will review this item will give it 1 star just because they hate Jessica the person, but here's a review actually worth reading rather than "aaaaah jessica sucks and she is stupid!!!!!!!"
A Public Affair - the title track, yes the beginning sounds like "holiday" but what is the crime here? It's a light, carefree fun dance track that is meant to make you want to dance. Perfect for summer. 9/10
You Spin Me Round (Like A Record) - Jessica recycles this 80s hit and rewrites her own verses and the end result is good. Nothing BRILLIANT or AMAZING, but it's a pretty good song. I can see this being big at clubs. 8/10
B.O.Y. - This is a club/techno kinda song with an 80s twist. VERY different from her past songs but this is one hot track. I think the lyrics are the high point of the song and it's good to see Jessica show more edge in this track. 9/10
If You Were Mine - Personally I think this is THE BEST SONG on the album. It's 80s inspired but it's super super catchy and way better than the title track. I think this would'ave been great as the first single, and it's awesome that you hear part of her amazing vocals in the chorus. Definately should be a single. 10/10
Walkin' Round In A Circle - This is another of my favorites, it has a layback feel to it, makes you want to daydream and you can almost paint a picture in your head when you listen to this song. This is an amazing song, lyrically and just overall it sounds amazing. It has a kinda Norah Jones feel to it so if you're a fan of Norah you'll probably love this track. 10/10
The Lover In Me - Again, another highlight on the album. It's cheerful and happy and it's a very uplifting song. It's the typical Jessica Simpson song, anybody who liked 'With You' will love this song. The gospel choir near the end of the song make this truly a masterpiece. Another that should be considered for a single. 10/10
Swing With Me - This is yet another side of Jessica we havent seen. It has a country/swing feel to it, sounds very 1930s but the tempo on this song is awesome, her vocals really work on this song and it's catchy catchy catchy. You'll be dancing around to this one. 9/10
Push Your Tush - This is an adlib song i believe...meaning she just went into the studio and basically just sung whatever comes to her head. It's the Jessica we all love, she's goofing off in the studio, and it's a really feel good song. Showcases the southern charm of Jessica and it's again, catchy. 8/10
Back To You - This is where the ballads kick in. This has a R&B/Country beat and together it really meshes well and Jessica's vocals work like magic over the beats. I'm not sure but it sounds like it could be about nick but it's not like she's saying she wants to get back to him or anything, it's basically about how sometimes she thinks of him. Really good production. 8/10
Between You & I - This is a BRILLIANT BRILLIANT track. I think it could possibly be my favorite ballad on the album and in my top 3 favorite songs on this album. It's a ballad, but it's beautifully written and sounds very 60s like a Nat King Cole song in female version. Definately a highlight on the album, this is genious. 10/10
I Don't Want To Care - This a R&B mid tempo ballad with a piano playing. It's fresh R&B, better than any ballad on her last album. The lyrics are excellent and once again I have to commend her production team on this one, it's excellent. 9/10
Fired Up - Here is one song we did not expect from Jessica. This has a hip-hop club influence, and is THE club banger of the album. The beats are HOT and the vocals really give an edge to the song. I cannot express how much I LOVE this track, this is certainly a future club hit. 10/10
Let Him Fly - This is that one song that obviously is about her divorce. Jessica said she and Ashlee listened to this song over and over and just cried and cried for hours listening to the Patty Griffin version. Those tears paid off, because this is such a great way to end the album. This is true Jessica, and her vocals really shine on this song. It's heartbreaking. I felt myself wanting to cry after listening to it, it's very touching and it's the perfect way to end a perfect album. 10/10
Overall, I have to give this album a 9/10. I love that Jessica didnt stick to one theme with this album and did the whole 80s, Country, R&B thing on this album. No question about it...this IS Jessica's best album and it deserves a chance. I really recommend this album to anyone who loves PURE POP or anyone who misses the camp fun 90s songs, anyone who loves old school ballad jessica or anyone who is ready to see another side of Miss Simpson.
I love this album so much I might just go out and buy another copy...it's SO GOOD. Just give the cd a chance, it will really suprise you.

The first single's video clip is directed by Brett Ratner of X-Men fame a star-studded video chronicling a fun night out with Jessica and her celebrity friends. In the clip, Jessica Simpson is joined by Eva Longoria, Christina Applegate, Christina Milian, Maria Menounos, Andy Dick & Ryan Seacrest Sony/BMG. 2007.A Public Affair is a disco-studded, stunningly entertaining, 13-song slab of energetic white-girl pop. From the summer-fizzy first song and title track--which lifts, improbably, from both Madonna and the Supremes--Simpson tears out of the gate refusing to fall back on stale-sounding power ballads, something of a signature in the past. "You Spin Me Round" updates the Dead or Alive '80s hit; the vampy and innovative "B.O.Y." borrows from a vintage Cars track; and "Walkin' 'Round in a Circle," about as sleepy a track as you'll find here, seems to put a kind of pop spit-shine on a tune both Stevie Nicks and Ryan Adams popularized. Later tracks, including the excellent Louis Prima-inspired "Swing with Me" and the shockingly urban-sounding "Fired Up," bring Simpson's inner femme fatale to the fore.
