Free Music Review: JSRF Soundtrack. BUY IT
Hit: 4 Stars

Anyone who has played JSRF on the X-Box will agree with me that it is an amazing game and that if you own an xbox you have to own it or your not a true gamer. A smaller propotion of people will agree with me that it has some if the best music you have ever heard. Now a majority of people wont read this but they should to find out what they could potentualy buy. Firstly the music blows you away Concept of Love is the best song on the album but unfortunatly one of the best songs on the game isnt on there (Birthday Cake) but Oldie But A Goody is and that is an amazing song. Gitar Vader, Hidiko Najuma (i think i spelt his name wrong) make some of the best songs and re-mixes ever. the vocals are polished up more than on the x-box and they are diffrent from the Dreamcasts songs. this is a must buy for all fanatics of the game. so go and buy it. buy it. buy it. buy it.

Free Music Review: Takin' The Jet Set
Hit: 4 Stars

JSRF is a great game with an awsome soundtrack of a mixture of techno, punk, and rap. In the game, they're cool tunes to listen to while doing some graffiti or takin out the Rokkaku Police. I was disappointed that the album didn't include "The Scrappy" by the Latch Brothers. But I WAS relieved that they didn't put "Birthday Cake" in it. I find that song extremely annoying. Some others CAN get annoying, but most of them are cool to chill to. Great stuff.

Free Music Review: MIssing Tracks
Hit: 4 Stars

I love the J-Pop tracks in this JSRF album, although I must say I was very disappointed in the fact that there were some very good tracks added to the U.S. game that were not in this CD. Such tracks were "Me Likey the Poom Poom," "Statement of Intent," and my personal favorite, "AISLE 10." If you like most of the music from this game, this is a solid buy. However, I am warning that there is the possibility that your favorite track may be missing.

Free Music Review: Not as consistent as JSR 1
Hit: 3 Stars

I have both this soundtrack and that of the first Jet Set Radio game. While there are a number of great standout tracks on this new CD (especially "Funky Dealer"), about half the disc is taken up with "blah" remixes of songs from the original JSR. The techno style is an interesting change, but the unfortunate result is some rather bland production in spots. The better songs are all in the old styles: sample-heavy hip hop, dance, and wonderful Japanese punk exotica (like the incomparable "Baby T.")

I don't have the second game because I haven't yet invested in an X-Box. But I suspect that a lot of the best tracks have been left out. Jet Set Radio's soundtrack CD would have been even better if it had been complete and it's likely the same story here.

If you love making mix CD's of bizarro music or liked the first soundtrack, this is definitely worth having despite its being more uneven.
