I loved every single track on this CD. I've always liked, enjoyed and appreciated Jill Scott, but I love her now. This CD places her in another stratosphere from her contemporaries, and is sure to be a classic. I really believe that 10 or even 20 years from now, people will be buying this CD as an "old school" classic like they buy Stevie or Earth, Wind & Fire. Love ya Jill!! Free Music Review: Jill Scott

Sometimes known as a B side artist, but her words are very powerful with meaning. Some of her songs are from her life experiences. A very powerful and A REALLY nice CD to listen to. I LOVE Jill Scott. She is a blessing to the industry. However, something is seriously lacking with this CD. The creativity level seems to have dimished a bit. I was disappointed. I am the type of person that loves singles, but never buys CDs. I decided on a whim to purchase "The Real Thing" because of the single "My Love" by Jill Scott. I knew I liked her previous singles and figured that an entire CD couldn't be too far from what I had already heard from her. I have to say that now that I have heard this CD, it has yet to come out of my player. I love, love, LOVE it! I haven't purchased the first two, and I know I must be missing out. There is a disclosure that is in the case warning purchasers that the content may be too erotic for the youngsters, and they aren't lying. I didn't know that Jill Scott was getting down like that! But she conveys her messages in such beautiful ways. You feel what she is singing about and you are thinking about the words long after the song is over. I strongly suggest it even if you're only mildly interested. She really is The Real Thing.Free Music Review: Lot's of emotion... nice flow...

Jill has a way of touching the most inner spirit, and keeping it simple and sweet. Beautiful album and the beauty of her spirit shines through each and every song. The range of the emotions and human spirit are evident in each of her songs... from relationship "stuff" - the ups and the downs - to our inter-relations with each other... what we do and don't do to "be there" and support one another... Jill does it again... this album is as solid as her others, and just like the others, it can stand on it's own too... "must buy."
