Free Music Notes for Diabolical StreakFree Music Review: UK Fan #1 - Hit: 5 Stars
I first saw Jill Tracy across a crowded bar in San Francisco and was instantaneously smitten, she seduces you with her beautifully chilling lyrics and noir decadence. Her CD, I am delighted to report, repeatedly transports me back to those first mesmorizing moments with a spine tingling clarity. I recommend Diabolical Streak to everyone, but especially those of us into Nick Cave, old fashioned magic shows and a touch of dark cabarette.
Free Music Review: Is this Heaven . . . or Hell? Can I stay? Hit: 5 Stars
This album is, in a word . . . diabolical. I can't stop listening to it. This woman has a way of getting under your skin, and believe me -- that's not a bad thing. Or is it? I'm hooked now! The sound is completely distinctive, the lyrics brilliantly original, and the voice deleriously seductive.
Jill Tracy, who are you? Can you come out and play? Can you at least put out another album? Please, don't make me beg!
Free Music Review: Atmospheric and Brilliant Hit: 5 Stars
Diabolical Streak is a wonderfully atmospheric album. The overall sound evokes candle lit parlours draped in dark velvet. It is an ideal soundtrack for an evening spent conversing around the absinthe fountain with strange acquaintances.
There are no weak tracks on this album and choosing a favorite depends greatly on one's mood and disposition, though "Doomsday Serenade" is a perennial favorite of mine.
Free Music Review: I love to spend time in Jill Tracy's world Hit: 5 Stars
It's rare to find an artist these days who is a true original, but I've never heard anyone quite like Jill Tracy. Her songs are both sexy and scary, dark and decadent, haunting yet hummable, and you won't be able to resist her sultry voice when she suggests you spend an eeeeevil night together. I only wish she would make a follow-up -- I want more!
Free Music Review: My favorite musical find of the decade! Hit: 5 Stars
As Edward Gorey is to illustration, as Tim Burton is to film, so is Jill Tracy to music. So much unnecessary crap being created by the corporate machine and force fed to the masses these days- it is wonderful to come across a rare and unique gem like this.
For a man of my dark tastes, this album represents a cultural life line of sorts.
