Free Music Review: In a world of chaos, young Brickman shines bright and true Hit: 4 Stars
As mentioned in past Jim Brickman CD reviews, I discovered this gentle man's lovely music in a local bookstore one day, whilst arguing with a book clerk over the trivial matter of whether or not I gave him a ten or a twenty dollar bill to complete our simple transaction. I was buying a hypnotic cassette to help improve my overall self-confidence. Anyway, in the midst of our heated argument, we both noticed a change in the air, as the friendly female clerk back in the music department played Brickman's second CD, the one where the cover shows him sitting by the water in jeans and a loose-fitting white shirt, with not a harried care in the world. Hearing the first tinkles of some majestic piano interlude, my demeanor, as well as the goateed clerk's, changed instantly, and we at once became brothers, forgetting the trivialities of money, and embracing the world in which we live, together, as brother and brother. Instantaneously, we recognized ourselves as the small people we were, within the much larger world we inhabited. It was, I swear to you, a transcending experience I hope never to forget. Thank you, Jim.Nevertheless, it was recently announced that the keyboardist for death metal legends Hallow's Eve quit the band, citing irreconcilable differences. NOW'S YOUR CHANCE, JIM!!! Jump on board before they get someone else less qualified!! I feel that Brickman's brand of metal piano could only enhance Hallow's Eve's already stellar metal work. Time's a-wastin', so get that resume out, Mr. Brickman. Show 'em what you're made of!!! But back to Jim Brickman's work, or "JB's" work, as the hardcore metal fanatics and groupies refer to him. I feel that in this world of anger, cynicism and never-ending dark news, Brickman brings hope to the depressed, vision to the meek, and humility to the CEO-types of the world. No one is immortal, and Brickman's sensitive brand of piano makes that abundantly clear. His music is perfect for any occasion: making love, crying, watching TV with the mute function on, yelling at crank callers - hey, you name it, Brickman provides the atmosphere. I may not know the specifics of what makes piano music exquisite, but I certainly understand what I hear, and I hear brilliance in Brickman. This man is a loving genius, folks, embrace his work whilst he roams the earth. Still, word has it that Black Sabbath and another famous metal band are going to reform and tour for Ozzfest this year. What in Christ's good name are you waiting for, Jim!!! Call Sharon Osbourne and demand to get on the bill, for your sparkling brand of death metal piano fits perfectly towards what those bands are trying to achieve. You owe it to yourself to expand, young Jim. Young Brickman must take things up a level, and become the household name he so deserves to be. I only hope that piano lovers can appreciate what I and young Brickman are trying to say and achieve, and I only hope that you have a wonderful day... FILL YOUR LIFE WITH TRUTH!!!! FILL YOUR LIFE WITH BRICKMAN!!!!!!!!!
