Free Music Notes for Love Songs & LullabiesFree Music Review: Taking Jim Brickman For Granted Hit: 5 Stars
Jim's new CD is generating strong sales and reviews. However, some fans have complaints about his latest CD "Love Songs and Lullabies". One issue is the 38 minute CD length. I enjoy an artist who can make concise musical statements without feeling the need to fill out an entire 80 minute CD. Interestingly enough, the fact this CD has been released less than a year after "Simple Things", has also caused criticism. I much prefer a hard working artist who is building a strong catalog of work to some who are only motivated to release new material every five to ten years. I'm afraid some people assume this is simply the soundtrack to his current PBS special. These are actually studio recordings and are comparable to any of his prior releases. The album cuts are varied yet consistent, a mix of instrumental and vocals. It just goes to show you can't please everybody all the time. I do feel some fans are taking Mr. Brickman for granted.
Free Music Review: Peace in a crazy world Hit: 5 Stars
I just love Jim Brickman!!! He is such a talented pianist!!! I saw him in concert just last week and met him in person. He is such a nice person! Anyway enough of that. I just love this cd! Especially on the songs that Tracy Silverman joins him in on! It is so nice to hear music where people aren't always yelling or mad at somebody. And thank goodness you know that there is no profanity in his music. When I play his music I get so wrapped up in it I lose all sense of time. His music is also very thought provoking. When I hear it I tend to do alot of soul searching. As I play his cd's no matter how stressed out or mad at the world I am it brings me to another place. It brings me to a place of calm and I begin to unwind and let my cares drift away. I highly recomend this cd not just for the music but because it is a great way to handle stress. What more can I say? Buy it!!!
Free Music Review: Brickman creates from the heart again! Hit: 5 Stars
Having just become a Jim Brickman less than 2 years ago when a friend took me his holiday show in Chicago, I have grown to be quite fond of the man and his music. His latest, Love Songs & Lullabies, shows that the creativity of Mr. Brickman is flowing. This CD is in conjunction with his PBS special running this month. I was moved by "Love Never Fails" and feel that this will be a song chosen to be sung at weddings. Jim's talent is showcased when he has an orchestra behind him. In, "Course of Love," this is evident. On, "Dreamland," we are treated to not only hearing Tracy Silverman on the keyboards, but Tracy's wife, Thea Suits, on the flute. "You," sung by Ally McBeal star Jane Krakowski is so uplifting to me. I know I will be singing it to my sweetheart. Thank you, Jim, for allowing us to experience your talent!
Free Music Review: Pleasant piano playing Hit: 5 Stars
My wife heard Mr. Brickman during his appearance on "Fox & Friends" one morning, and decided that this CD would make a good birthday present for me, so she bought it. She has good taste, and I enjoy listening to this music very much. All of the compositions are well done, and the piano playing is soothing and relaxing. My favorite tune is "Love Never Fails", and the vocals on it, by Amy Sky, are wonderful. This is the type of CD that you want to have playing when you are spending time alone with your special someone, either driving in your auto, or just relaxing at home before a roaring fire, sipping some "bubbly"!
Free Music Review: A wonderful CD that can really touch your heart Hit: 5 Stars
My friend from Phoenix told me about this CD. I got it and love it immediately. I don't agree with some previous reviewers'opinions about the vocal parts- I think they're all beautifully done. Jim sings in track 7 "I see the moon". Though his voice is not really a so-called "singer"'s voice, the innocence in his voice and the lyrics can still touch people's hearts deeply. Track 3 "Love Never Fails" by Amy Sky is my favorite. It's a Bach's tune done beautifully with Bible's verses "Faith, Hope, and Love". I cried serveral times listening to this song. I am a singer and songwriter myself. Trust me, get this CD- you won't regret it.
