Free Music Notes for Classic Hits of Jim CroceFree Music Review: Back In Time Hit: 5 Stars
Close your eyes and you're listening to records again in High School. Just as good as I had remembered. How sad that he died so young, so talented.
Free Music Review: Great Album Hit: 5 Stars
Best compilation of his work that I could find. Excellent price as well.
Free Music Review: Classic Croce! Hit: 4 Stars
Not only do you have the pleasure of listening to some of Croce's most popular hits like "You Don't Mess around with Jim", "Operator", and "Time In A Bottle" but other sweetly sublime tunes are included like "It Don't Have to Be That Way" and "New York's Not My Home". Of the 20 songs on this CD, not a single one is disappointing. Check out #19, "Salon and Saloon", a lyrical challenge which Croce pulls off with soulful grace.
This album was a lovely reminder of my youth in the '70s. It's a pity the world lost such a talented artist in his prime!
Free Music Review: Great novelty tunes Hit: 4 Stars
I guess I'm just a fan of novelty hits. I mean, I enjoy "The Eggplant that ate Chicago!" So, two of Croce's hits I always hear on the old folks radio are on this CD: "You don't mess around with Jim" and "Bad, bad Leroy Brown" are here for our enjoyment. There's also that time in a bottle thing that is okay once in a while. And, Croce fans will enjoy the other stuff, but the two novelties would be great candidates to download, from Amazon of course, to your personal music container.
Free Music Review: his classics, but something is missing Hit: 4 Stars
This is a great collection, aptly titled, with everything expected. Be aware, however, that this version is not the one advertised. There are only 20 songs on this CD, not 21, and the Chain Gang Medley is not on it. This is disappointing, given that this song would improved the uniqueness of the album. Still a great listen, and better sound than some of the old recordings.
