I have owned this CD for a few years, and it is still my most played CD. No artist has been able to captivate me emotionally like Jimi Hendrix. In all honesty, Voodoo Child (Slight Return) still puts me in a trance and takes me to another place. A CD I will always cherish, and you should too. In case you didn't know, Jimi Hendrix is the best guitarist of all time. That's really the only reason you need to buy this album. But I'll give you some other reasons anyway. I've had this CD about three years now and I still listen to it regularly. Unlike many guitarists who just do really fast solos and nothing else, Jimi Hendrix could actually write good songs. And on songs like "The Wind Cries Mary" he shows that a solo doesnt have to be lightning fast to be great. My favorite is probably "Voodoo Child (slight return)" It has some of the most original guitar work ever on it. Apparently Stevie Ray Vaughn did a cover of it but I haven't heard it. (I did hear his version of "Little Wing" though and it's awesome). I havent found a better Jimi Hendrix collection yet.Free Music Review: A great "starter" collection of Jimi

This is a nicely packaged and somewhat accurate portrait of the Jimi Hendrix sound. Not only does it contain most of Jimi's best tracks, but it includes a decent volume of information inside the sleave that helps the listener get a good picture of the man and his work. I definately recommend this CD for anyone interested in "getting into" Hendrix or simply having a collection of some of the greatest music ever to issue forth from an electric guitar.Free Music Review: 5 STARS ARE NOT ENOUGH.

From the power in VooDoo Chile to the vocals in Angel to the harmony of Little Wing...this has to be my most played and loved CD. To everyone who loves this album get the video Woodstock: the Director's Cut, and be prepared for what was one of the greatest, most legendary concerts in the history of time. and Jimi is amazing. period.
