Free Music Review: Only Hendrix Album You Need (That's Not Live) Hit: 5 Stars
Seeing that I've had this album for some time, I guess it's appropriate to give it a review. Well I would like to start off with this: this album is basically the perfect compilation of studio recording. In fact, I think ''Purple Haze'', ''Voodoo Child'' and ''Star Spangled Banner'' alone are worth the cost of the entire CD, but of course, the other, 17 tracks are still fantastic. I'm a guitarist, as well, and I intensely admire Jimi Hendrix's ability to play the way he does (which includes his technical skill, the way he can manipulate feedback and distortion, and just the way he can do his solos.) Well, my time's about up, and I'd just like to finish with: If you want just one Hendrix album...YOU WANT THIS!!! lol
*by the way, if you want some live Hendrix, it'd be a good idea to check out the live album ''Band of Gypsies''*
Free Music Review: Hendrix is God! Hit: 5 Stars
The guitar is a musical instrument that has existed in one form or another for several hundred years. And in all that time, nobody has played it better than the ultimate guitar virtuoso Jimi Hendrix! The extreme talent he played with was absolutely miraculous! This kind of musicianship is the kind of thing that is beyond human! It makes me doubt that Jimi was really a man! Its more like he was some supernatural being with supernatural guitar playing powers! How much do I love Jimi Hendrix? Let me put it this way: I used to be an aethist. but then I heard the song "Purple Haze" and I was convinced that there really is a God. And that God's name is Jimi Hendrix, the God of Guitar Playing! Jimi HAS to be a GOD, not a man. That's the only explanation for such incredible guitar playing skill! What a musical genius!
Free Music Review: ''Voodoo Child Baby...'' Hit: 5 Stars
I doubt that there will ever be a guitarist who plays with as much passion and soul as Jimi. His use of effects such as wah-wah, bending and feedback was groundbreaking to say the least. Hendrix mixed rock, blues and psychedelic together to create something truly great. With this compliation, you get some of his best and most famous songs, including ''Purple Haze'' ''Voodoo Child'' and ''Along the Watchtower,'' all of them featuring great riffs and solos from the Godfather of guitar.
Needless to say, Jimi was the star of the Hendrix Experience, but the bassists (Billy Cox and Noel Redding) and drummer (Mitch Mitchell) were outstanding too. I think there is nothing controversial in calling The Hendrix Experience one of the best bands of all time.
'Peace 'n love everyone

Free Music Review: Have you ever been to Electric Ladyland... Hit: 5 Stars
...but first: are you experienced? If you aren't, this is a great start to being experienced. And if you are, then you know what this is all about: the greatest musician that's ever walked on this planet! This is a collection of the BEST songs Jimi ever made, including for example Foxy Lady, All Along the Watchtower, Little Wing and If 6 Was 9. I would add some other songs to the CD, but I wouldn't take anything away from it. Jimi Hendrix was a genius, no doubt. He developed rock music and especially guitar playing with wah-wah and feedback. This CD is a great cross-section of his career and his life, the life that was too short. He lived fast and died young, too young. But what he left behind was something that we others couldn't do even though we lived hundred years old.
