Free Music Notes for Experience Hendrix: The Best Of Jimi HendrixFree Music Review: yea Hit: 5 Stars
Jimi hendrix, one of the most infulential persons out there. people classify him as the best guitarist ever. he was good, but not THE BEST. he was a little overrated. i think probably vai, clapton, could out beat him now if he was alive. but he is pretty much of one my favortie guitarist and will be remembered for making great music. this album shines. its great. i love the star spangeled banner...i can play it just like him!...go to mxtabs.net if u want to learn it. and this album is just good. jimi hendrix was a great guitarist its sad that he is dead. but his music still lives, and will always live with me. but not every song on here is good. but most are. especially purple haze. i love that song.....later :)
Free Music Review: Classic Hendrix Hit: 5 Stars
Although it is hard to put together all of the classics that Hendrix produced in his time, they have definately managed to catpure the essence of him in this album. A very good place to start if you are wanting to explore Hendrix's music as it contains the best of his signature virtouso style guitar. In reference to Bix Lang, who im sure is an ignorant KKK member, who thinks the idea of opening his mind is an outrage, try actually listening to Hendrix, you may be surprised to find he uses many more than 3 chords! as for your skilled guitarists, they may be reasonably skilled but they were frightened to experiment. if you want skill and melody try listening to hendrix properly, along with Zappa and Jimmy Page.
Free Music Review: The Only Jimi You'll Need Hit: 5 Stars
There are older Jimi Hendrix collections out there, like Smash Hits - but don't bother with them. This is the one to get. Like most say, this one really packages the essential hits.
My only quibble about Hendrix's catalogue is that he came in an era where the audio recording technology available to him wasn't as sonically superb (only the Beatles would exceed all peers)...so it's a little rough here and there but the man's brilliance shines through. Remastering has no doubt improved what was there, but it hasn't done wonders to enhance the mixes. Regardless, there was really only one Hendrix and his influence on those around him and those who came after was indelible. Experience Hendrix!
Free Music Review: It's all here! Hit: 5 Stars
Wow! I was amazed at how extensive this collection is and how many songs were on it. For the price you can't beat it. Every popular, or even semi-popular for that matter, Hendrix Experience song is on here! "Hey Joe", the very first single, and "Purple Haze" are here, along with "Castles Made Of Sand" and "Voodoo Child: Slight Return" (a personal favorite). I would recommend just getting the 3 Hendrix Experience albums instead of this...you'll have this great music plus what wasn't released as singles...but this compilation is a great starting place for Hendrix beginners. I got this first, and then went back about a year later and purchased all 3 original albums at one time and am glad I did.
Free Music Review: Work of genius Hit: 5 Stars
I was a total newbie to Hendrix's music. I had heard him played on the radio occasionally or on a friend's stereo, but never really paid much attention until I listened to this album. I do not want to get into details besides saying that the music is amazing. There are not many musicians of such deep genuine talent. The worst track on this album is way better than what many popular modern bands could ever hope to muster. Hendrix's style is original and very recognizable, and I fell in love with his music from the first serious listen. Nobody plays the electric guitar like he does. Now I know that eventually I will go out an buy more of his albums. If you are new to Hendrix, start here.
