Can music really be this good? This one has my vote for album of the century, to take nothing away from his other efforts from the mid seventies. This is literature set to music. It is ironic to me that we never officially got radio Buffett until the late seventies. Stories, blistering steel guitars, and the smell of the ocean--the forecast is for perpetual sun! I am hard pressed to go into tracks--there is not one lemon and my favorite songs sort of alternate with each listen.Free Music Review: SIMPLY THE BEST!

I still say it's his finest offering. And it came long before he started selling the grass skirts off his Reeferettes. I wish to God almighty they would've played DALLAS as the theme song for the TV show of the same name: "People do you wrong down in Dallas..." Showing JR walking down the hall with a grin on his face. I've seen JB in-concert many times, and I think all his stuff is great. this is my favorite CD of Buffett's. Most of the songs are awesome, and I've listened to them hundreds of times over the years. The songs are very cute and catchy and capture the times of 1970s Florida life. a must for every buffett lover, beach music listener, boaters, road trips to Florida, summer BBQs etc. Buy it new or used on amazon and you won't be disappointed. this review is 35 yr old male who lived in FL, CA, AZ & Massachusetts.Free Music Review: If You Like The Cover You'll Love The Album

Simply put this is Buffett's best album. "A Pirate Looks At Forty", "Presents To Send You", "Nautical Wheelers" and "Migration" are my favorites but everything on here is outstanding. I know people have to change over the years but like other reviewers have said Buffett's sound diverged from my tastes after Changes In Latitude Changes In Attitude.
A1A is a record for beer, cookouts, pickup trucks, having a good time.

I agree with the reviewer who said he is not a parrothead but a jimmy buffett fan. This album is some great music, and evokes true feeling of mellow 70s times.The songs here speak to me esp. "life is just a tire swing". I love hard rock like Nirvana, but this album turned me into a Buffett fan, if not a parrothead (ugh!)
Lest we not forget the late great Steve Goodman who plays great acoustic guitar on this album.
