Free Music Notes for Far Side of the WorldFree Music Review: A Little Old, A Little New Hit: 5 Stars
This long awaited CD gives us some great new tunes. Selections such as Savannah Fare You Well really harken back to the old days. There is even a return to the slide guitar! At the same time this is balance with the newer styles of Hokey-Pokey, a good time party song. Add in some Zydeco, some Polynesian lounge music, and a good helping of tongue-in-cheek and what you have is an all around excellent offering. Phins Up Phans!
Free Music Review: Jimmy Buffett for Non-Dummies Hit: 5 Stars
No cheeseburgers, no blenders, few parrot or shark references. In short, a great musical effort which shows his talents rather than his gimmicks. Thanks, Jimmy, for giving the rest of us fans one of the best CD's you've ever delivered. It's been playing non-stop for me at work, home, in the car for a week now...I can't recall a CD from any artist that has held my attention quite like this.
Free Music Review: Best Effort in 10 years !! Hit: 5 Stars
Being a devote Parrothead since 1979, I can honestly say that, with the exception of "USS Zydecomobile", this is one of Buffett's best albums. There is a great mix of some mellow music combined with classic Buffett escapism. At least three or four of the songs on this CD are bound to be new "classics". An absolute must for anybody with a Buffett collection.
Free Music Review: Jimmy hits it perfectly Hit: 5 Stars
This is by far the best CD Buffett has put out in a long time. Banana Wind was good, but the music on this CD is so much more mature. The blending of the instruments is absolutely magnificent. I would highly suggest listening to this on headphones so one can appreciate the blending. There are two tracks I am not a big fan of...but the other 10 are amazing...no less.
Free Music Review: Buffett Keeps Playin' On Hit: 5 Stars
There isn't a better performer out there than Jimmy Buffett, and he continues to prove it with his newest album Far Side of the World. A must have for any true Parrothead. All tracks are great, but my favorites are Track 4 - Savannah Fare You Well, Track 6 - Last Man Standing, and Track 10 - Someday I Will. A great CD that everyone should own.
