Free Music Review: The Pirate's Greatest Hits
Hit: 5 Stars

Jimmy Buffett has always referred to himself as a pirate, and this great collection is the pirate's greatest hits. Each song on this disc is teriffic, and they blend a unique mix of Caribbean and reggae style sounds that the listener won't forget.

This disc is loaded with classic Buffett hits. From the unforgettable "Cheeseburger in Paradise" to the concert staple "Margaritaville", each song reminds the listener of a warm tropical beach with a cool drink in their hand. Buffett shows his humorous side with "Why Don't We Get Drunk", but he shows a more serious side with "Come Monday". Finally, the reggae and Caribbean sounds can be heard in full force with "Volcano".

Buffett has developed a loyal following of fans who come to his concerts dressed in Hawaiian shirts, or who frequent his bars and clubs. Its easy to see why he has the fan following he does by listening to the songs on this great cd. I highly recommend this disc. Each song is one you will definitely know by heart after listening to it.

Free Music Review: A must for any Parrothead
Hit: 5 Stars

If you Parrotheads, for some strange reason, don't have "Songs You Know By Heart ," get it now. It's been out for awhile. It's mostly classic Buffett feel-good music but with some poignant Green Label-swiggin' selections ("He Went To Paris," " A Pirate Looks At 40"). This is the ideal starter for someone who's never experienced Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band. Exercise a wee bit of caution because it does contain th e classic jukebox cut, "Why Don't We Get Drunk..." After all, this IS the guy, whe n we were both sent off to college to gain a little knowledge at Southern Mississippi, whose lyrics caused the USM administration to ban him from playing in the Union Building. On som e cuts you'll hear fellow USMer Greg "Fingers" Taylor work his harmonica magic. T his is one you'll play over and over and over again. Come to think of it, get two copies. You'll probably wear one out. From MAILER-DAEMON Fri Jun 19 14:59:43

Free Music Review: Wastin' away again in Margaritaville.
Hit: 5 Stars

This was the first Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefers CD that I ever owned, and it is still my favorite. This is a great CD to listen to in the car if you want to take a mental vacation from whatever is stressing you out. Everytime I listen to this, I am reminded of a tropical vacation in Honduras where this was the only CD that they had in the hotel bar. Good memories.

If you wanted to get someone hooked on Buffett, just loan them this CD and see if you ever get it back.

The two songs on this CD that are my favorite are "Margaritaville" and "Volcano", but all the rest are good. I never liked the "Pencil Thin Moustache" song, but all the rest are fabulous.

If you are planning a tropical vacation, this CD would be a great one to take along. I know that I would never go on vacation without it.

Free Music Review: timeless colaboration
Hit: 5 Stars

Now since I was little, i'd say about 6, i have been listening to Jimmy Buffett. My Grandfather listened to him when he sailed the Atlantic then my mom listened to him when she was growing up. My whole family lsitened to Buffett growing up. This CD is what i have listened to since I was 6 and there is no better way to be introduced to the smooth, layed back, island siging, genius Jimmy Buffett. The music on this CD just takes you away for a while and puts you into a good mood and reminds you to enjoy life. Some of my fav. songs include 'changes in lattitudes, changes in attitudes', ' Valcano', 'Fins', and of course ' Margaritaville'. But this CD is a Deff. buy and i would also recomend his live album entitled "Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays" another favorite.

Free Music Review: Jimmy's Greatest
Hit: 5 Stars

No one of has made a bigger career for themselves out of one hit than Jimmy Buffett. He transformed his only top ten single, "Margaritaville", from just a mere song, into a successful restaurant, clothing line, a brand of tequilas and inspired a way of live for a nation of Parrotheads. Even though "Margaritaville" is his biggest hit, he is by no means a one hit wonder. In fact that song isn't even his best. Songs like "A Pirate Looks At 40", "Son Of A Son Of A Sailor", "He Went To Paris" & "Come Monday" are all superior songs and the rest of the album is made up of similarly excellent songs. If you are a novice to the music of Jimmy Buffett, this is the place to start.
