Free Music Notes for Songs You Know by Heart : Jimmy Buffett's Greatest Hit(s)Free Music Review: Chillin' Hit: 5 Stars
All I have to say is that this CD is it is absolutely tremendous, and no I'm not middle age at all, still in high school. The lyrics to these songs are the greatest you can find anywhere, coming from a guy who listens to the deep lyrics early Zeppelin, Nirvana, and if I'm in the mood (rarely) later Pink Floyd. Jimmy Buffet's songs are the "chilliest tunes," you can find around, for when truly all you want to do is sit and chill. This music is representative of the good life; from "Why Don't We Get Drunk" to "Cheeseburger in Paradise" to the classic "Margaritaville" portrays strong imagery so that you truly feel laid back after listening to this music. If you like both The Eagles and Bob Marley this CD is truly for you.
Free Music Review: Give this album a chance! Hit: 5 Stars
Jimmy Buffett is more of a state of mind then an artist...but if that is true, I want to have part of the state of mind! He seems like a guy who is always having fun. But to tell you the truth, I like all of the songs on here except track #9 (check the listing yourself! ) Some of the better songs are those like "Son of a Son of a Sailor" and "A Pirate Looks At 40" that have more profound messages than, "there's booze in the blender"! I also like the reminiscent "Pencil Thin Mustache" that describes a guy looking back at the way it used to be! All in all, this is a great album! Congratulations Jimmy on the world-class party album!
Free Music Review: The Best Of Jimmy Buffett Hit: 5 Stars
SONGS YOU KNOW BY HEART contains most of the Jimmy Buffett songs that anyone knows, including such tales of a life spent outdoors as "Cheeseburger In Paradise", "Fins", "Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes", and his all-time biggest hit, "Margaritaville." There are also sentimental straight-ahead country ballads here, including the searching "He Went To Paris" and the wistful "Come Monday." If that wasn't enough diversity for one CD/cassette, there's also the drinking song "Why Don't We Get Drunk (And Screw)" and the detective story "Pencil Thin Mustache." If you get this collection, plus a few of his other albums, you'll have an essential library of Jimmy Buffett.
Free Music Review: The Essential Buffett Hit: 5 Stars
After reading all of the other reviews, it is quite clear. Buffett has his fanatics (Parrot Heads) and his enemies. But no one can deny that Buffett is unique. My college years turned me into a full fledged Parrot Head. And this album was the prime culprit. Being a parrot head requires you to drink and sing along. And, this is the best place to start. Listen to it twice and you'll pick up the whole idea. It was painful to read some of the less than friendly reviews. I can only say that these folks miss the whole point of Buffett. All you need to do is grab a drink and absorb the music with the alcohol! Bon Voyage!
Free Music Review: Perfect recipe for summer Hit: 5 Stars
Step one: buy this cd
Step two: buy new blender
Step three: buy lots of rum and fruit mixes
Step four: mix the rum and fruit
Step five: pour the mixture into a glass
Step six: put on the cd
Step seven: repeat steps three through six as often as needed
If you don't drink alcohol then you'll still enjoy this greatest hits collection. All the early hits are here and it's really all you need to know about the guy. But there is a lot more good stuff out there. Make sure you give it all a listen.
