Free Music Review: What Led Zeppelin Would Have Been?
Hit: 4 Stars

Just like virtually every Led Zep album, this CD requires one to sit back and listen several times before the absolute majesty of the music rings through. Plant seems to be somewhat meloncoly, but Page is definitely is at top form. The format of the CD does not seem to follow in particular pattern, but that is probably due to the fact this CD was recorded in just over 30 days. Steve Albini is defintely overrated; however, what was he supposed to do? He had little choice in how this CD was to be engineered. Afterall, Page insisted all the Led Zep albums be engineered by different people to ensure no one other than himself got the credit for Zep's unique, "light but heavy" sound. Kudos to Page and Plant for giving all of us a taste of what 70s album oriented rock was all about. "Walking Through Clarksdale" is a must have for any true rock fan.

Free Music Review: The best Led Zeppelin album that Led Zeppelin never made.
Hit: 4 Stars

I really expected this to be a horrendous belly-flop; instead, it turns out to be the best post-Led Zeppelin team-up that's been released so far. Probably in deference to Plant's decreased vocal chops, the frames of reference here are more HOUSES OF THE HOLY and PHYSICAL GRAFITTI than LED ZEPPELIN I or II, but that's a good thing. It gives both Plant and Page a chance to stretch out on their mysterioso sides and not stay so much on the crotch-rock postures that haven't worn well over time. "Shining In The Light" and "Most High" are the best of the bunch, to my ears at any rate, but everything here adds new lustre to the music which, oddly enough, seems uniquely these guy's turf and no one else's. I've been playing this endlessly for two days in the car and it still sticks to the ears. Real fine!

Free Music Review: This will take a few listens to "get it"
Hit: 4 Stars

I remember back when first slapping LedZep III onto my turntable and thinking "this album is crap." Now, many moons later, I now consider that album a masterpiece. I'm NOT saying "Walking Into Clarksdale" is a masterpiece by any means, only that this CD will take some time to grow on you--it is not like a pop album that hits you immediately--the rock here is more subtle. Favorite cuts: "Upon A Golden Horse," "Burning Up," the title track, "House of Love," "Blue Train." My main complaint about this CD is the running order of the songs ... I'm not sure what order I would have put them in, but it seems if the duo just blindly inserted the track order. Hope to hear more from the four lads.

Free Music Review: Please don't post a review when you know nothing about music
Hit: 4 Stars

How unfair is to compare this cd with the Led Zeppelin albums of the past. Led Zeppelin is and forever will be the greates band ever! No question about it. This is a very solid cd and takes a true music fan to appreciate it. Sure you're not going to like it as much as one of the original studio recordings that you have been listening to for 20 years.

This CD is for true Zeppelin fans only. All the wanta-bees need not post any further. Any song Jimmy Page plays on is classic and for the doubters I saw him live on this tour and he has lost nothing. Robert Plant is still one of the great frontmans of all time only behind probably Jim Morrison. Buy this cd and you will find several songs that you will really enjoy.

Free Music Review: Priceless artwork
Hit: 4 Stars

Walking into Clarksdale is the type of cd that you have to listen to a few times to really enjoy it to it's full potential. Just like Led Zeppelin in it's prime, it has an almost spiritual feel to it, as if the divine are speaking through Page and Plant. It has the ability to transport you into different planes of thought.

The best songs of the cd would have to be 'upon a golden horse' which has an old school led zeppelin feel and 'when the world was young' which is everything that I spoke about in the last paragraph. Admitingly some of the songs on this album are not all they could be, but this is still a great record by all means! There is alot of wisdom in their music and I recommend it for all and everyone.
