When it comes to the best women in rock, few can compare to Joan Jett. With her powerful voice, one of a kind attitude and overall presence and energy, she is truly a force to be reckon with. With her band The Blackhearts, she scored a string of megahits throughout the 1980s', all of which are compiled on this very brief (47 minutes) but very concise best - of.
"Fit To Be Tied" contains all Joan Jett & The Blackhearts' biggest hits, including the classic "I Love Rock N Roll", "Bad Reputation", "I Hate Myself For Loving You", a live version of "Little Liar", her superior cover of Tommy James And The Shondells' "Crimson And Clover", "Cherry Bomb" and others. All the songs have been remastered, and it really shows. The songs sound fiercer, louder, edgier and just plain better than ever.
The liner notes are ntohing more than photos as well as snippets of praise from various rock figures, but who can complain when you got such great music on this cd?

what can I say? totally f**king awesome.
Joan JeTT was and is the greatest rock chic to rock the planet.
She had guts, power and attitude.
While so many other so-called rock chics where worried about how they looked and sounded - Joan JeTT and the Blackhearts plugged it in and rocked the world with the most gutsy songs.
This cd showcases some of her most amazing songs and to this day STILL ROCK.
U can still feel the awesome power of this great lady in her songs - that attitude, that passion and the power she wielded.
Each song stands alone as a trademark of what rock and roll was and still is.
1 small critism, this collection should've been a double album to fit so many other great songs.

This is the best CD in my collection for Joan Jett. Not only does it have the songs that are Jett classics (like Bad Reputation), it has a great remake of Crimson and Clover. Plus, there are songs that the casual listener of Jett won't know....but because of Jett's signature style, will become favorites! Anyone looking for just one CD of Joan Jett should add this to their collection. I have been a big fan of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts for a long time & I have seen Joan Jett live twice (of course both times she rocked!). If you are looking for a "greatest hits" compilation than this is the best one they have put out so far. The only song I do not personally like is "Love is all around" I just don't care for the song itself or their cover as I think the song is just cheesy but the rest of the songs are all great so it still gets 5 stars from me!Free Music Review: Well Produced Greatest Hits Collection

Joan Jett, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, is completely under-appreciated. I understand there is a documentary being produced regarding her time with the Runaways. If you don't have any JJ&TB CD's, get this one! Instant Collections are great if they are well produced. I completely enjoyed re-discovering this incredible band and incredibly talented, Ms Jett! I plan to buy more JJ&TB works. I forgot what I had known. JJ&TB Rock!
