Free Music Notes for Live from Nowhere in ParticularFree Music Review: This will be Top of the Charts! BUY this ONE!!! Hit: 5 Stars
If you have never seen this guy, GO FAST and buy this LIVE CD! Especially this double CD! It's his concert in a LIVE CD, one of my all time favorite songs is track 4 where he plays his guitar like a sitar, it is so melodic, it's called "India/Mountain Time" this song gives me goosebumps just listening, because I have seen him perform this song "live" so many times, and it is truly amazing! All the songs on this CD are great, so don't just buy and download one or two, buy the whole double live CD, it's an incredible package deal for the price! "If Heartaches Were Nickels" and "Sloe Gin" are tear at your heart songs that I just can't imagine anyone ever doing him wrong, but blues fans rejoice, he's been annointed in true blood! He's a big "Yes" fan and the last song shows his influence by Chris Squire one of the greatest bass players of all time.
Free Music Review: Mind Blowing, Riveting Entertainment Hit: 5 Stars
I first discovered Joe Bonamassa as a DJ on Sirius Blues satellite radio. He only had a 15 minute show, but his personality and taste in music locked me in. Then I heard him play guitar and sing...And I've been a die hard fan ever since. As a musician, he's contemporary, fresh, exciting, & innovative, with respect for his blues rock roots. On his latest CD, "Live from Nowhere in Particular", his guitar playing and singing are alive with passion and feeling. His guitar textures range from muscular as in "Bridge to Better Days" to middle Eastern in "India" to moody as in "Sloe Gin". Joe also pays tribute to his heros in "Django/Just Got Paid" and "High Water Everywhere." He may have copped some licks, but he tastefully puts his own stamp on the tunes. "Live from Nowhere in Particular" is a must have for any fan of electric blues.
Free Music Review: Joe at his best! Hit: 5 Stars
Joe Bonamassa is a great blues guitar player and this cd proves it! Some bands or artists sound great in the studio but fail when performing live but not Joe and his band. If you ever walk away from one of his shows disappointed it's your fault! This album does it's best to capture Joe Bonamassa and the feeling he puts into every song he plays. Not only is the instrumentation crisp and clean, his vocals bring out the passion and feeling put into each song when he wrote it or what he feels when playing someone elses songs. For those of you who have been to one (or more) of his concerts you know what I mean, and for those of you who want to experience Joe live, buy this CD!!! I have never been disappointed in any of Joes' work. Check out his other CDs for more great music!
Free Music Review: Almost captures the live experience---BUY IT Hit: 5 Stars
Having seen Joe perform live several times, I don't think anything recorded can come close to the energy at his shows, and the visual images of his guitar mastery. Since you can't see the live shows anytime you please, this CD is the next best thing. No part of the guitar is wasted, and Joe's tone is clear and crisp as he blazes the British blues on these songs. If you only have studio versions of these songs, get this CD, as he embellishes the live versions. The live versions of the songs are BETTER than the studio version, and in some cases that's saying quite a lot.
Listen to this CD, and then do yourself a favor--keep a watch on his tour list ([...]) and catch a live show when he comes to a venue near you. You will not be disappointed.
Free Music Review: Sloe Gin without the strings. Hit: 5 Stars
I am 2 short of having all the Joe Bonamassa recordings. Sloe Gin, his last studio album, was my favorite despite have some orchestral backing on a song or two which normally I do not appreciate in any manner. Naturally I was excited when I saw a live album with a few songs from the Sloe Gin album, including the title song, which meant no string arrangements. I was not disappointed by any means. I have seen Joe play live and he is truly an amazing axe player. He usually just has only a bass player and drummer accompany him live but on this set he also has a keyboard player in the lineup which I beleive is an improvement. You also cannot beat the price for this 2 CD package. If you have never seen or heard Joe play live you are in for a treat.
