Free Music Notes for Live from Nowhere in ParticularFree Music Review: Gotta give 5 for the chops Hit: 5 Stars
So I've been following Joe for about 7 years, and I've seen him live about 6 or 7 times. This release is a bit of a "Joe up until now" concert. It's an attempt to put together his career to this point. The first live release was better, more raw, but the guitar chops on this one are second to none. Joe has a tendency to over-sing a little lately, and get real breathy on the big notes, but he can still wail. Basically, there could have been better song selection, and an acoustic "Heartaches" is a bit disappointing, but Joe is always 5 stars. Buy the disc. If you love blues, Joe, or just guitar...it's worth the price of admission.
Free Music Review: It's a Live Disc Hit: 5 Stars
I have got 3 other discs from Joe Bonamassa and he is great guitarist .I usually end up not likely most 'LIVE' discs because they are usually such terrible recordings Love the band got to have the disc kind of thing .But was surprised and pleased there is bottom end extremely well recorded incredible sound with this disc from Joe.the production has captured the 'LIVE' sound very well .There are so many artist's that could learn from this on how to produce a 'LIVE' CD .I feel that I have heard Joe at one of his all time best live performances and I am looking forward to his next disc into the blues
Free Music Review: Must Buy Hit: 5 Stars
Having seen Joe play last night, which was this set, this CD is a must buy. Quality of the recordings is well above average for any live tracks. Joe doesn't do a whole lot of talking in his shows, he lets his music do that which makes this collection of live cuts work as opposed to a single live show. It is a great show case for his Blues-Rock style. I've enjoyed all his work and although he didn't put "Tea For One" in this set which I'd like to hear live, i think you'll be hard pressed to find something on here that you don't like. Seeing it live just made it that more impressive. His best to date.
Free Music Review: Best JoeB Live Album Hit: 5 Stars
This album does the best job so far of capturing the experience of seeing Joe live. "Woke up Dreaming" is my favorite track because it captures the amazing energy Joe puts into his live performances. I didn't like the song "Sloe Gin" on the Sole Gin album -- it seemed saccharin to me. When I saw Joe perform it live it seemed more heartfelt, and I liked it much more. The version of "Sloe Gin" on this album is like what I saw live, and it's one of the best songs on this album. Overall this is a fantastic album -- Joe at his best. If you can't see Joe live, this is the next best thing.
Free Music Review: the soul of a woman was created by Joe.... Hit: 5 Stars
Another excellent must have by Joe. More than worth it for Mountain Time and Just got Paid/Dazed alone. Joe definitely has some unique magic power involved and those two songs are chock full. I dig all the songs but other favorites are Sloe Gin, Bridge to Better days, One of These Days, Another Kind of Love. Glad to have full dosage of Bogie on this one. The sound is great although as others said a bit different than many expect on a live release. For me it is as I believe it was intended which is reflected in the title.
Best part is it is available on 3lp vinyl now too.
