Free Music Review: Another great Satriani album!

Just as the rooster crows and the wolf howls, so does Joe Satriani play his guitar at inhuman levels - Satch continues his trend with his 2008 album 'Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock.' I really like this album - 'Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock' is definitely another fantastic Joe Satriani album.
When I first popped the 'Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock' CD in my car CD player, I was hit with a revived 80s sounding Satriani with the first tune on the album, "Musterion." With a style reminiscent of Satch's first album 'Not Of This Earth' combined with the dreamy feeling of one of his best songs, "Flying In A Blue Dream," "Musterion" is a great song and the perfect way to start the album. "Overdriver" follows, a high flying spacious groove that I predict will be a live Joe Satriani staple in the future. Joe switches gears with the fun rock tune "I Just Wana Rock" and the messy jam "Professor Satchafunkilus."
Then comes "Revelation," the crown jewel in the album and Joe Satriani's best song since - well, 2 years ago with "A Cool New Way" but you get my point! A tender powerhouse, this song both rocks the house down and takes you on an emotional odyssey with warm tones, a Satch solo filled with power, and melodies that hit me deep - what a tune. From "Revelation" on, this second half of the album is even better than the first. "Come On Baby" is a smooth guitar ballad and "Out Of The Sunshine" is one of the best songs on the album - a cheerful & moving groove with a Satriani-style island groove interjected in the middle of the song. "Diddle-Y-A-Doo-Dat" showcases another great Joe Satriani boogie-like guitar tune of "Satch Boogie" proportions; the epic iceberg of a tune "Asik Vaysel" is a great addition to the album (and a great driving song I might add); and the album finishes with "Andalusia," a real good tune with a world-music start and a traditional Joe Satriani jam end.
