Free Music Review: One of his best!

Joe Satriani's new album is quite eclectic, diverse, and really showcases many of Joe's talents and his songwriting abilities, which I think are especially evident on this album. From the moment I popped it in my CD player I was instantly impressed, entertained and was definitely "ready to rock"! The extra DVD in the package is just icing on the cake, with some great moments from in the studio! The whole segment on "I Just Wanna Rock" was hilarious, especially when they slapped aluminum foil all over Joe so he looked like this robot in his song! Great stuff!
Speaking of great stuff, the music in this album is excellent and displays lots of new sounds and techniques. Some heavier songs like "Overdriver" and the closer "Andalusia" are some real treats! There are a couple slower songs like "Come on Baby" that take a bit longer to get going but are still very nice pieces of music nonetheless. My favorite songs are "Revelation", Musterion" "Diddle-Y-A-Doo-Dat" and the aforementioned "Andalusia". The last one especially is cool because it starts out with this Spanish-sounding guitar, hand claps, and an upright bass and then about halfway through cranks up into a cool rocker - a superb song to end the CD with!
In all, Prof Satch has delivered a terrific piece of work, one of my favorites right up there with "Surfing", "Crystal" and "Is There Love", among the rest, all of which I love to listen to! Can't wait to see him in concert! If you haven't yet purchased this album, I would absolutely recommend it. There is something for everyone in it without being too weird. Thank you Joe for giving us yet another wonderful work of art!
