Free Music Review: stylish bluesey-shred

If you're looking for a different sound from the neoclassical or thrash-shred stuff, Tafolla delivers. He's a serious technician, with some solid song-writing ability. I gave this album four stars because a few of the songs tend to repeat the same honkey-tonk/bluesey-rock sound, and I'm not a huge fan of that repetition. But a few songs really stand out, with "Crankenstein" putting itself over the top as one of the great shred numbers of all time. Overall, this album hits some and misses a few. But when it hits, it HITS.
