Great soundtrack for a great movie. It really gives one the sense of being transported back to an earlier time in our history. The tracks are a miix of songs with an American colonial-era undertone and more modern dramatic music. It is generally softer and more relaxing than a lot of movie soundtracks, so you can listen to it while you're working or reading a book. I had tried to find out who the composer of this fantiastic music was from the beginning of the minisieries. I searched on the HBO website, carefully watched the credits over & over, & I can't tell you how excited I was when at the end of the series, I checked on amazon, and there was the sound track. It is one of my favorties , and I feel totally captures the essence of the story. I am sure John & Abigail feel the same way. I hope anyone looking for an uplifting soundtrack will consider it. This was the best movie I've seen in a long time,ever since I saw The World's Fastest Indian, another good movie that movie critics missed. If it wasn't for John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, we'd probably still be a British Colony. This country needs a 21st Century John Adams or Thomas Jefferson to lead this country, this country has no leadership. Excellent movie, thank God for John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. "John Adams" is an outstanding series. The acting is superb and the dialogue equally compelling. Every person who lives in the United States ought to watch this. It is reminder of what being an American truly meant. The series is stimulating, entertaining and inspiring. I rented the series first and I felt compelled to purchase it. I can't add much beyond what's already been added by the earlier reviewers. The series is excellent and the soundtrack is superb. It does indeed have a distinctly American feel to it, and some of the tracks have elements that will/could bring you to tears they're so moving (e.g., Declaration of Independence, Letter to Jefferson, etc.). I can recommend this without reservation.
