John Bayless notes the baroque focus and commitment in his approach to Elton's music, and his invention carries the day. I would only note the concept is not new; Liszt was one of his progenitors, with his own spin on the baroque. John Bayless is very much in this tradition. All the EJ songs he revisions are superbly achieved.
One issue: Mr. Bayless's proselytizing is inappropriate for the case notes. This should not deter anyone from savoring the music, though.
