Free Music Notes for Hedwig And The Angry Inch: Original Cast RecordingFree Music Review: Can't wait to Sing along with "Wig in a Box"! Hit: 5 Stars
The CD doesn't arrive until next week, via express UPS, but I have to echo the comments below. "Hedwig" is in my top five all-time theater experiences, and believe me, I've seen a lot. GO GO NOW TO NEW YORK TO SEE HEDWIG, even though J.C. Mitchell has now departed the cast. Not since the Broadway cast of "Chess" have I so eagerly anticipated a CD release. Brilliant, daring, funny, heartbreaking, wonderful, more. Buy this CD, see the show, buy the T-shirt, kneel to the genius of John Cameron Mitchell and Cheater and Trask and company.
Free Music Review: MINDBLOWING!!!!!!!! Hit: 5 Stars
This album is phenomenal, and for those of you who love it, wait till you see the film =version and hear that recording. I was lucky enough to see the world premiere of the James Cameron Mitchell's film version of Hedwig and it blew me away. It was one of the best films I've seen, and at earch of its 2 showings, James Cameron Mitchell recieved standing ovations for his work when he came out for the q and a. Look for the film version, but in the mean time, enjoy this groundbreaking recording of what I feel to be the greatest musical of all time!
Free Music Review: I can't listen to anything else Hit: 5 Stars
This CD is stuck on perpetual play in my car! After seeing the movie at Sundance (it blew me and the entire audience away), I couldn't get the songs out of my head. Part Rocky Horror, part David Bowie, part punk and part glam, this album has some of the catchiest yet edgiest tunes to come along in a long time. I couldn't find nor wait for the film soundtrack so I bought this and was thrilled to see that the music is virtually intact from its Broadway run. Big hair and big tunes make this an album you've got to have. I can't get enough.
Free Music Review: The origin of love... Hit: 5 Stars
I saw the show last summer when JCM was on vacation and i saw Michael Cerveris' rendition... although, not as funny as JCM's (i've heard) he still manages to give it the beauty that is Hedwig. The show is awesome and even though my favourite musical in the world is RENT (a t-shirt that Yitzhak wears), Hedwig is a very close, if not equal, favourite. This show is a must... even if you've never seen the show, the album is a must have!!! Can't wait for the movie, let's hope that they don't botch it up though!
Free Music Review: wonderful! Hit: 5 Stars
brilliant! just brilliant! My kids ask me,"mommy, why do you play that music so loudly?" because i am infatuated with it. I love it. I think the idea for "Origin of Love" came from Plato's Symposium(correct me if I'm wrong), but it sounds so much better coming from John Cameron Mitchell. No, I don't play it with my children in the room, it's not meant for them. they just hear the beat coming from the kitchen. Someday I'll let them hear the words and they'll love it as much as I do.
