I bought this for my husband (and myself) because we both have fond memories of the Muppets & John Denver Christmas special. The 12 Days of Christmas version on this CD is a classic! My toddler also loves listening to it, although he grew up exposed to the Muppets (because I love them) and already knows Kermit, Fozzie, Miss Piggy and the rest of the gang. My only wish is that they would release this special on DVD!! I have looked everywhere and can't find it. What a loss. This CD brings me back to my childhood.Free Music Review: One of a Kind

This I owned opriginally on cassette back in 80's for my older children then. Now I have it for my youngest child today who loves the songs and the way it sounds.
This whole show, which I saw on TV years back, was a one time ordeal that came together so well, this cd is the testament to John's excellent musicianship and the songs and how magic happened that night which this is the exact arrangements as they were done without rehearsals, etc.. Amazing and nice addition to any Christmas collection.

Our family owns 30 some Christmas CDs and this is one of our favorites! One of my favorite moments is when they are singing "We wish You a Merry Christmas" and Gonzo (I think) sings "bring in the figgy pudding" and Miss Piggy says indignantly, "Piggy Pudding??". Gonzo quickly explains "Figgy pudding", Miss Piggy is appeased and the song continues. This type of muppet humor is wound through the beautiful carols. I just wish that they would release a DVD of the original TV Special that this CD comes from.Free Music Review: It's not Christmas without this Album

Call it nostalgia, call it just good musical sense, this album tops them all as far as a favorite Christmas album is concerned. It has a great mix of traditional and not-so-traditional songs, which, sung by John Denver and his charmingly pure voice somehow feel familiar even if you're new to this album. Every song brings a smile, whether because of the muppet humor, or because of the innocence in Denver's voice that warms the heart. What an enjoyable CD! John Denver at his finest and the fun Muppets with Jim Hensen as Kermit the Frog. Christmas songs take on a bitter-sweet flavor when these two team up with the rest of the Muppets to make a Christmas CD that everyone can love. The Twelve Days of Christmas is an original with Miss Piggy stealing the show. This CD can be played any time of the year. The first 100 degree day will find me listening in my air conditioned car!
