Free Music Notes for Long Road Home: Ult Fogerty Creedence Collection

Free Music Review: Isn't exactly the ultimate to me.
Hit: 4 Stars

This compilation of John Fogerty's hits both solo and with Creedence is listed as the ultimate collection. It is quite good, but not the ultimate to me. It has almost all the great songs I can think of except " I Heard It Through The Grapevine " but Marvin and Gladys both had great renditions of this song. What I found lacking was that most all songs were just 2:30 to 3:00 minutes long. I know there are 25 songs but I would have loved to have had the extended versions on 2 discs. I would have paid more for that. However, I am still happy with what I got ( I could listen to Centerfield all day ).

Free Music Review: John Fogerty - 'The Long Road Home' (Fantasy)
Hit: 4 Stars

What's really good here is Fogerty's return to Fantasy,of which has allowed him to not only arrange, but produce and assemble HIS choice of the most memorable CCR goodies. Not to mention also some of his best solo material.Several of these cuts were recorded off his recent co-headlining summer tour with John Mellencamp, such as "Almost Saturday Night","Hey Tonight","Rockin' All Over The World","Keep On Chooglin'" and "Fortunate Son".Twenty-five classics to groove on here,so enjoy it.Long live Creedence!

Free Music Review: How About ALL Live Songs?
Hit: 4 Stars

I bought the DVD of this and have not bought the CD as it is not a live version of the songs (at least most of them). So this is basically a CCR greatest hits of which I already have. The DVD is GREAT. The songs are performed wonderfully on the DVD. Too bad the CD was not a live version like the DVD! If you are a CCR and/or a Fogerty fan, buy the DVD instead. It is WELL worth the money for the all live material! I will burn my DVD to CD and listen to it. :-)

Free Music Review: Takes Me Back
Hit: 4 Stars

Classic rock tunes from the 70s and 80s. Seems like Fogerty's music has been used in a number of movie soundtracks and this album does a great job of presenting the best studio or live version for each. I've loaded it into my T-Bird's CD player and suspect it'll be there throughout the summer, top down, and speakers blaring. This one's worth the money because nearly every tune brings back memories. Even my teenage daughter says she recognizes many of the songs.
