Free Music Notes for Get LiftedFree Music Review: awesome CD Hit: 5 StarsJohn brings back the life in music. Refreshing to hear real instruments that supports - key word SUPPORTS - a great voice as opposed to studio tracks overpowering folks calling themselves 'singers'. He is even better LIVE in concert.
Free Music Review: John Legend- Get lifted is worth 5 stars. Hit: 5 StarsI heard from friends about John Legend, they let me listen to "Ordinary people" and I loved it, I lent the cd. I've let my father listen to the cd, and he likes it a lot, we've been listening to the record now since we lent it, that was 4 hours ago! It's obviously worth 5 stars, a must-buy.

Free Music Review: TRULY A LEGEND! Hit: 5 StarsGet Lifted is probably the best RnB album of the last 3 years, I don't think Usher's confessions really offers the same consistency and quality despite going 9xplatinum but figures don't always tell the truth because John Legend is a real artist and not an entertainer... Confessions wouldn't sell more than 500,000 copies in the hands of Brian Mcknight or Joe... it's full of fillers but gets overrated because of huge marketing. Get lifted is a truly a masterpiece and beleive me there's not a single track you can afford skipping coz every song here is powerful on its own. However, this is not the case with the 'Emancipation of Mimmi" or "Confessions"...
"Ordinary people" is such a simple track but it's lyrics and John Legend voice just makes it a soulfood. The last time I liked a simple song was in 2002 when I heard Fallin by A. Keys. The album has two other accoustic, simple but amazing tracks, "Stay with you" for which J legend won a grammy and "So high" whith its simple but amazing lyrics ... "when morning comes we'll see the sun is not so far and we can't get much closer to God than where we are...". The gospel inspired "It don't have to change" belongs in the same category. John Legend delivers great music with amazing simplicity.
"Get lifted" has uptempo tracks with the involvement of his friend and mentor Kanye West who helps with his rich production skills on the Rnb/hiphop mix "I can change" feat Snoop Dogg, the crazy & funny "Get lifted" and the big hit "Number one".
With this album John Legend proves he's a great songwriter, he can also play piano, he's really a consumate artist.
2. Let's Get Lifted 5/5
3. Used To Love U 4.5/5
4. Alright 4.5/5
5. She Don't Have To Know 4/5
6. Number One 5/5
7. I Can Change 4.5/5
8. Ordinary People 6/5
9. Stay With You 6/5
11. So High 5/5
12. Refuge (When It's Cold Outside) 4.5/5
13. It Don't Have To Change 4.5/5
Would you rate 5/5 for each and every song in the current RnB releases? Probably not the ones from Rihanna, Jamie Foxx or Omarion... Unless you look back and listen to Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Marvin Gaye but you don't have to do that since John Legend is the best shortcut.... he will get you lifted there!!!
