Free Music Notes for Some Time in New York City/Live JamFree Music Review: Sorry No Matter How You Cut ItI have always been a major Beatles and John Lennon fan. I tried hard to get over the whole Beatles and Yoko thing, but certain facts remain for me. Yoko is a bozo, and has always been one. Her lurking around in the studio, if not the cause of the early breakup, certainly made it impossible for any differences to be settled between the Beatles. Her "participation" musically in later Lennon efforts were pathetic. Her influence on him as an individual so diverted his focus, that at some point he became almost as pathetic as she was. The occasional "Universe" or "Imagine" cannot make up for the boatload of worthless meanderings contained within every post Beatles effort by Lennon. I even bought the boxed set that Ono put out in later times, so it can't be said that I am not a hopeful Lennon guy. However when I hear her "voice", see her mug, or sense her influence, my stomach turns. When listening to almost everything post Beatles by Lennon I never have to think too hard as to know why his stuff sucked. When I hear someone say they like Ono and thought she had any positive influence on his muscial career, I can only think that they are saying it out of loyalty to John.
