There really aren't words to describe the feeling that came over me as I listened to this set for the first time. The music presented here offers a tremendous glimpse into the life of a truly great man. It shows just who John Lennon was, with a sound that somehow manages to seamlessly flow from bitter to whimsical to romantic to just pure, raw rock 'n' roll. I think that John is often misunderstood and labeled "eccentric"... but then again, most geniuses are. Thanks for the memories John.Free Music Review: A great gift for Lennon fans.

It is a nice box set full of John Lennonisms, which is one reason I wanted it. It is a very good CD set if you like John lennon in his post-beatles age. The sadest song on the whole set, to me, is GROW OLD WITH ME. Listen to that song once, keeping in mind, as you listen to the words, that a deceased man is singing about his future. Then, listen to it again with the thought that Lennon recorded this song, just hours before his fatal death. A tear will come to your eyes, if you Love Lennon.Free Music Review: Great Box Set!

If you are a Lennon fan..you're in for a treat! This box set has a ton of alternate versions of some of his most famous work..and a lot of these alternates are better in my opinion than the originals! Also included are snippets of time spent with Sean..family time..which humanizes this legend..He was just an ordinary bloke who loved his family and was happiest being a house dad until some psycho comes along and kills him..One of the greatest tragedies of the 20 century...Great stuff!Free Music Review: Lennon Anthology a masterpiece

I was a little leary, seeing that Yoko put this together. One thing I didn't need was more of Yoko's patented '70s screeching. But to my great surprise, she left herself off, for the most part, and let John's incredible talent shine. I have always felt that John's solo albums were a bit overproduced (Phil Spector, anyone?). These demos show that leaving the Beatles didn't affect his work. Anyone remotely interested in Lennon and the Beatles will find this quite a treasure.Free Music Review: Tremendous! Amazing! When I bought this boxed set, I was astonished! I never realized the genius of John Lennon before this. From the first take of "Imagine", to the best version ever of "Jealous Guy", from "Mind Games" to the parody of "Yesterday", this one tops 'em all! I am maybe the number #1 Lennon fan, and there were excelllent songs on here I never even heard before! Also, there's a great version of "Come Together"! Way to go,John and Yoko!!
