Free Music Notes for Lennon Legend: The Very Best Of John Lennon

Free Music Review: Solid Collection of Lennon Material
Hit: 5 Stars

We all must admit, John Lennon knew what he was doing. He made good music. All the songs on this CD standout as good, but some more than others. Tracks 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 standout as his best works. Some of the songs like "Instant Karma," "Whatever Gets You Through The Night," and "#9 Dream" just don't do anything for me. Track 6, "Cold Turkey" is an awesome song except for the two minute ending of John groaning. Obviously, "Imagine" is the best track, but don't forget about "Working Class Hero." "Mother," "Jealous Guy," and "Love" are my other favorites of the whole CD. You can really hear the emotion behind these three songs. This CD is definately worth it, even if Yoko Ono gets the money. Buy it now if you don't have it.

Free Music Review: Lennon, minus Ono, equals brilliance!
Hit: 5 Stars

This collection is, by far, one of the best CDs featuring music from a musical legend. In my opinion, there is no need to buy any other Lennon albums but this one. Well, almost... the entire Beatles collection is a must. The perk here, is that you don't have to endure Yoko's caterwalling (accept on 'War is Over,' which seems more prominent on the remaster than before... hmmm, that seems suspicious). Just pure, unadulterated Lennon.

At any rate, Lennon represents an element of creativity and honesty that has become a rarity in the music of recent years... make that the past 20 years. Kids, if you're sick of the garbage being put out now, this is a good place to begin your new, more refined music education (and don't forget the Beatles, Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc)

You don't want to pass this CD up. It will rarely leave your player!

Free Music Review: Lennon Legend
Hit: 5 Stars

After my last disappointing review, I thought that I need to shape up and stop messing around. Anyway the CD.

This is the best John Lennon Greatest Hits, which is all on one CD. This is a new version of The John Lennon Collection from 1982 [Which includes a rare track, Move Over Miss L]. It includes twenty tracks from 1969 to 1980. Thankfully there is none of Yoko's songs and it just John Lennon from beginning to end.

It starts off with Imagine, one of John Lennon's great tracks and it all starts to form a great collection. It is at least an hour long, so you won't be disappointed. I didn't go mad and buy all his Albums, other than a few Albums.

I also own the DVD, which has lots of Special Features and Footage. So I say, if you like The Beatles, then get this.

Free Music Review: Great CD for all but Hard-Core Lennon fans
Hit: 5 Stars

If you are a real hard-core Lennon fan, you probably already own his entire catalog. For all the less serious Lennon fans out there, this is a great compilation, containing most (all?) of his best solo songs on one CD.

I was thinking about purchasing Double Fantasy for "(Just Like) Starting Over" and "Watching the Wheels", but was a little hesitant about it. Then I remembered about this collection.

I am not planning on buying all of John's CDs, and this CD contains all of the songs that I would have bought any of his other albums for. It's also got some great singles on it, "Instant Karma!", "Cold Turkey", "Give Peace A Chance", etc.

Again, unless you plan on buying all of his albums, you've got no choice but to buy this CD. YOU HAVE TO.

Free Music Review: Good Collection of Lennon's Best
Hit: 5 Stars

This collection represents probably the best from John Lennon's solo career - if you define "best" as being those songs that became the most popular or are the most remembered. For a proper appreciation, one should listen to John Lennon's albums. It also helps if you know something about the ups-and-downs of his life. It really is wonderful to hear a new hopeful and happy sound from him in his last years, and you can actually hear that in the songs on this CD. Also, these songs run the gamut from terribly pessimistic and critical to highly uplifting - a songwriting trick that few can pull off. However, this is a really good CD that I like more each time I play it. If you are a Lennon or even a Beatles fan, I think this will spur you to go out and sample some of John Lennon's albums.
