I purchased 'Room for Squares' when I heard "No Such Thing" on the radio numerous times and from a recommendation from a friend. Turns out I fell in love with his voice, his awesome guitar playing, and the overall effect of his music on me. I was at Wal-Mart last night to pick up a different CD and I saw this sitting on the shelf. I bought it, and I love it! I of course bought this long after I had bought his major studio release. Many people look at this as just a previous recording of "Room For Squares". I don't, I think of it has a retelling, many times we re-read a book or re-watch a movie we love to experience different aspects. This gives us the chance to do that in a different way. I like the more mellow sound of the songs here just as much as I like the popped up versions on "Room".Free Music Review: John Mayer At His Best

So I'm one of those John Mayer fans who liked him before "No Such Thing" hit the radio and music video programs. The reason is this album. "Room For Squares" is also one of my all-time favorites, but John's acoustic sound on this record can't be beat. He is amazingly talented (his writing, guitar playing, voice, everything) and has great stage presence, which I think will lead him to becoming a legend.Free Music Review: i am a fan!

i have been a fan of john mayer since room for squares, but had never gone back and purchased this album! i really like the less "polished" versions of "no such thing" and "my stupid mouth"...acoustic versions more stripped down...and there are a couple of other great songs, like "love soon" that you won't find on the other major releases...if you are a fan of john mayer, definately pick this one up.Free Music Review: John Mayer Is Great And This CD Proves It

WOW, IT IS THE FIRST THING I CAN SAY. THIS CD IS THE BEST, AND IT IS ALMOST AS GOOD AS SEEING HIM LIVE. I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT HIM AND HIS MUSIC. I RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO GO OUT AND FIND THIS CD. I HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO HIM SINCE BEFORE HIS FIRST SINGLE WAS ON THE RADIO. I WOULD GIVE THIS CD 10 STARS IF POSSIBLE. JOHN MAYER IS GREAT WITH HIS ACCOUSTIC GUITAR AND THIS PROVES IT.
