Free Music Notes for The Village SessionsFree Music Review: Mayer Classic Hit: 5 Stars
I was impressed by the quality mix of these acoustic remixes. Sometimes Mayer in the past has put out live albums that were great but the background noise on live recordings can ruin it. This is not live but a studio CD....but the intimacy is bold in the sound so you feel like he is playing just for you live. These songs are great for anyone who loves Mayer and his acoustic sound. I love him hard or soft but this album is really a steal for the price. Enjoy!
Free Music Review: The Village Mayor Hit: 5 Stars
There is an apparent transition from the old John Mayer to the new artist that he is becoming. There are a couple of songs that definitely focus on his relationships, but there are also a couple that focus more on his world view and his stance on the current political situation. All of this is wrapped up in his solid musical skills. Ben Harper even makes a guest appearance on these recordings, making this a true underground masterpiece.
Free Music Review: The Village Sessions by John Mayer - Simply Great!! Hit: 5 Stars
In different renditions of his songs, from Waiting On The World To Change from the album CONTINUUM, to his outstanding TRY! Live Album, Good Love Is On The Way, John Mayer shows us a different side to some of his excellently written masterpieces.
The acoustic arrangement may sound different, but two things remain constant, the great feeling after each track, and the awe inspiring guitar playing.
5-Star Album, a must have!
Free Music Review: For people who followed John Mayer from the beginning Hit: 5 Stars
The village sessions fulfills some of the long anticipated all-acoustic album requests by fans of John Mayer. Even though this album does not represent new songs, it's still a brand new experience. John Mayer has proven himself a versatile artist since his first official album "Inside wants out", and with the release of "The village sessions", he adds another perspective to his list of 'songs that simply can't go wrong'.
Free Music Review: Classic Mayer Hit: 5 Stars
This album is simply a must own for any true John Mayer fan. Although I wasn't instantly blown away by the Trio/Jazz fusion album Continuum, this disc puts some of those songs in a new light. The Village Sessions takes some great tracks from the Continuum album and puts a classic John Mayer feel to it; mainly just his voice and a guitar. If you are a John Mayer fan, and didn't like Continuum, give this disc a try!
