Free Music Review: John Mayer At His Best
Hit: 5 Stars

I just picked up a copy of "Where the Light Is" and was extremely impressed. This is hands down John Mayer's best album. This isn't a live Mayer rehash like the second disc of Continuum (which was good, but nothing compared to this.) Every song on this album is the best version out there of that song. The new songs are top notch. "In Your Atmosphere" is a great song that brings us back to the Inside Wants Out era.
If there's one Mayer album to get, this is it.

Pros:
-"Daughters"... acoustic!
-"In Your Atmosphere"... great new song!
-Very good price.
-Contains almost all of Continuum's songs.
-Three albums in one: Acoustic Set, Trio Set, and Band Set.
-The Trio fixes a few of the weaker songs on Try and electrifies them.
-Seven thousand people go nuts at the start of a slow blues song in the year 2007. "All is not lost."
-Mayer's guitar is on fire.

Cons:
-Cheesy monologue breaks up "Bold as Love."

Free Music Review: One of the best recorded live performances i've ever listened to.
Hit: 5 Stars

John Mayer, simply put, is one of the greatest musicians of this era. A lot of people may disagree, but the amount of emotions that go into his songs is indisputable. John Mayer's guitar has a voice of its own; the guitar solo at the end of "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" will make the most glorious of all tough guys miss their ex-girlfriends, and bring the rest of us to tears. John Mayer sounds amazing live, and in a lot of his songs, his live versions sound even better than the actual recordings. This CD is a great chance to hear what people mean by "John Mayer is one of the best performers." Another great thing about this CD is some of the dialogue that's put in with John Mayer and the audience at LA when this was recorded. You get a little glimpse into who he is, and that's great to hear. Highly recommend this album. It's great.

Free Music Review: Fans of John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Josh Ritter...
Hit: 5 Stars

Fans of John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Josh Ritter...
check out singer/songwriter James Willhite.

"Willhite often draws comparisons to artists such as John Mayer and Jack Johnson because of his smooth voice, heartfelt songwriting and mellow blues-inspired guitar work. Although Willhite has discovered his own unique sound as of lately, the presence of these contemporary greats is quite prevalent. One may also hear the subtle blues influence of the late guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan, who along with Mayer and Johnson is Willhite's biggest musical inspiration."

Debut EP and new single are here on Amazon MP3, on iTunes and emusic.

Free Music Review: I love the music of John Mayer
Hit: 5 Stars

I have never seen John Mayer perform live. This two disc set is the next best thing to watching him play live in the Nokia theater. He performs most of his hits here. I love the acoustic versions of "Daughters", "Neon" and a lesser known track entitled "Stop This Train". Mayer's cover of Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'" John can jam on the guitar like no musician I've seen this decade. I love his performances of the bluesy track "Vultures" and the fast pace of the track "Who Did You Think I Was" My other favorite tracks are "Waiting On The World To Change" and "Why Georgia". This are such happy songs that John performs with his band. I also love the song "Gravity". It is a slow paced track in which John displays his vocal skills. I love the music of John Mayer.

Free Music Review: Excellent 70s Throwback
Hit: 5 Stars

If you're into artists like Eric Clapton or Steve Winwood, then you will enjoy this CD.

It has a 70s throwback sound with with some very good musical jams. John Mayer is an accomplishted guitar player that can hold his own with other well known musicians (see youtube CrossRoads video with Eric Clapton).

The CD is broken into 3-distinct sets of acoustic, trio and full band and has a nice flow. If you listen to the CD take a couple of hours out of your day and listen to it end to end to get the full concert effect.

The trio set has some good blues like the old standard "Everyday I have the Blues". There are also a number of songs on this CD that really come life as live performances like "Good Love".
