Free Music Review: Once again, another live gem from Mr. Mayer

Although I continue to enjoy all of John Mayer's recordings... I much prefer his recent blues work... on "Continuum" and now this live set. I have had the good fortune to see John in concert, and each of his live recordings has done an exceptional job of capturing both the energy and intimacy of his shows.
I have to disagree with a previous reviewer who hears flashes of B.B. King and Eric Clapton. John Mayer's guitar talent is clearly influenced by the great Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas-style blues... and equally so by the legendary Chicago blues genius Buddy Guy.
Modern blues fans must add this set to their collection, along with "Continuum" and the John Mayer Trio set.

This two-disk set is a must have for fans of John Mayer. Whether you love his, acoustical arrangements, pop songs or the sound of the John Mayer Trio, you will find, "Where the Light Is" a perfect addition to your John Mayer collection. For those new to the sound and style of John Mayer, this set is a perfect introduction to his music.
In my personal opinion, I believe Mr. Mayer to be one of the most talented musicians on the stage. His mastery of the guitar allows him to fuse traditional blues, jazz and pop sounds into compilations with broad appeal. Fans who enjoy the styles of James Taylor, Dave Matthews and Jimi Hendrix will find John Mayer worthy of their time.

The opportunity to see this concert film on the big screen was amazing. The energy that JM and JM3 exuded seemed to envelop the entire theater. You could sense the trance-like state the artists were in while the music poured from within. JM has definately refined his craft and brought his talent to the next level. The blues set was particulaly emotional--I felt as though I was being dragged through the depths of his heartache...I definately left the theater a changed fan. This perfomance leaves no room for doubt about the caliber of talent this young perfomer has, and I hope that he remains true to himself...I would hate to see another young star burn out too quickly.Free Music Review: LOVE LOVE LOVE this album!!

First of all, I have to say I am the biggest John Mayer fan that I know. I have all his albums and this one by far is the best. Slow Dancing in a Burning Room is sultry, sexy and sad....but in a good way. And Gravity is amazing as well. When he goes into the bridge, it makes me want to cry. OK, OK a little dramatic I know, but I could listen to this man play guitar all day LONG! All his other standards are great too, Why Georgia, Belief but it's the others, Good Love is On the Way, I Don't Need No Doctor, where you can really rock out. Free Fallin'.....man, I think I need to go listen to it now!!! You will not be disappointed with this Mayerfest, trust me.Free Music Review: In two words... SIMPLY AMAZING!

It starts with the nice, mellow, acoustic set that sets the mood for a promising GREAT show! Great choice of songs to start off, ESPECIALLY "Stop This Train!" Kicks in, BLOWING MY MIND with the Trio... Oh man these guys can play! The second CD goes off with the full band set! You can hear EVERYTHING you want to hear on one of his shows! What else can I say??? The man speaks though a guitar with such an easy tone for the ear... I am a musician myself and I just don't get tired of hearing him. I can pick out ANY of his CDs, any day and just listen to the art of guitar playing gone RIGHT! A great buy for whoever is buying this CD!
