I will admit that I don't usually buy cd's with live content and this purchase was actually an accident. I simply saw that the cd was John Mayer's and I bought it, not realizing it was a live performance. However, I turned out not to be disappointed at all. This cd is great and Mayer proves that he is one of the best guitarists in recent memory. My favorites from the performance, "Gravity" and "Good Love Is On the Way," show Mayer's skill and range of musical ability to mix smooth, bluesy ballads with stirring fast-paced songs. I loved this cd from beginning to end and I'm sure that every other John Mayer fan will too.Free Music Review: Captures the essence of a fantastic talent

I managed to catch this CD set on sale and I feel like I won the lottery. It is a MUST OWN for any John Mayer fan and a great starting point for anyone wanting to check him out. This is Mayer at his absolute best. I've seen him live a few times, but he was on FIRE during this show. While I love the acoustic set and the set with his hits, the JM3 set is where his talent truly shines (the 2005 recordings of the Trio songs pale in comparison). But, alas, I have failed. I am a loyal fan of all the greats. Hendrix, Santana, Page, Vaughn, all giants. I have refused to believe that the torch can ever be passed. John Mayer is simply the heir apparent to the throne of those Guitar Gods. This album is a well colored canvas of artistic courage and supreme skill. John is a fearless composer/performer and everyone with any doubt about his soulful guitar supremacy should listen to this album from beginning to end and prepare to be blown away.

I've read the editorial piece on this site concerning this Live cd and i'll have to disagree totally with this reviewer.I'd buy the whole double disc cd alone just to have Mayers cover version of Tom Pettys Free Falling.It's a hard thing to cover someone elses song but John simply blows me away with this one.I have the dvd and I am thrilled that this is now available on cd.Exellent.Its a Gem.I have As/Is and Try,also his studio cds and I can honestly say they all have something different to offer.Free Music Review: John Mayer live

John Mayer stands alone as one of the best guitarist I have seen in my life. This CD is priceless as it shows how wonderful he is with each audience member; leaving every sweet face that adores him, feeling like they are the only one in the room. I've watched him many times; I'm considerably older than his followers but enjoy watching him interact with his audience like he's been doing this for decades longer than he is old. This is an incredible CD.
