Free Music Notes for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Free Music Review: great no matter how you look at it
Hit: 5 Stars

This soundtrack is beautiful and wonderful to listen to whether you've watched the movie or not. Every song has a mood of its own and will absolutely sweep you off your feet!

This cd is a great addition to any soundtrack collection not only becuase of the brilliant John Williams but becuase of the essence of the pieces. Most songs can stand alone especially Fawkes the Phoenix. It's also fascinating to listen for the themes from the first movie that are sometimes not so subtlely incorporated into the music. The character themes are also very believable and worth listening to especially if you didn't pay too close attention to the movie.

Another thing I've noticed about this soundtrack is that, unlike many others I own, this one is very easy to listen to all the way through without being bombarded with random battle themes and overdone effect songs. Really a great cd for anyone!

Free Music Review: Even better than the Sorcerer's Stone
Hit: 5 Stars

No one can review themes and past melodies like John Williams. He can rearrange a theme five different ways, keep the magic, but have you believing that you're hearing a different piece. He has done that, yet again, with The Chamber of Secrets. Familiar themes return and new music emerges: Fawkes' theme is my absolute favorite!! It reminds a bit of Yoda's Theme from the Star War trilogy. Anyone who buys is going to have to realize that it's part of the Harry Potter saga, so it will have much of the music heard before. However, this is an incredible CD and I think stronger than the first. Williams' use of leit motiff, a certain theme for certain characters is illustrated on this CD beautifully with Fawkes and Lockhart. If you're a Harry fan, you should pick this up. If you're a Williams fan, you must pick this up.

Free Music Review: Brilliant, builds on the first score's themes with new ones
Hit: 5 Stars

Easily one of John Williams's best film franchises, he continues his Harry Potter repertoire in the score from the second film. It's obvious Williams knows exactly what he's doing when writing for sequels, it swells and decrescendos at all the right spots, stays interesting and enchanting, and contains some of the most haunting and stunning score pieces in recent film history. The Chamber of Secrets track is dramatic and intense, illustrating the themes presented in the film's climax, Dobby the House Elf is a brilliant piece of musical complexity, and Fawkes the Phoenix is perhaps the most stunningly beautiful piece in the entire Harry Potter score saga. If you haven't already, purchase this CD. It's a brilliant addition to any Harry Potter or John Williams fan. You will not be disappointed.

Free Music Review: Masterful Score
Hit: 5 Stars

This soundtrack, if possible, exceeds the quality of the previous score in this series. Williams builds on old themes and creates new ones. A must have!

The prologue features Hedwig's Theme, one of my all time favorites. What follows is a masterfully composed musical adventure, from the sinister "The Chamber of Secrets," to the stirring "Fawkes the Phoenix," and the friendly strings of "Reunion of Friends."

Another one of my favorites is "Dobby the House Elf." It has a sort of subtle nobility, if that makes sense.

Overall, a very, very good score. Almost each song is fun to listen to, moving through the story with as much excitement and magic as the film and book.

A must have for not only Potter fans, but music fans in general.

Free Music Review: John Williams at his Best
Hit: 5 Stars

I thought that this soundtrack was awesome- it kept alot of the old soundtrack's theme, but added about double the amount of beautiful themes at the first soundtrack. The highlights of the CD were -(this was probably the best one)- FAWKES THE PHOENIX, the Flying Car, Gilderoy Lockhart, The Spiders, Prologue:Book II,THe Chamber of Secrets, Dueling the Basilisk, and Reunion of Friends. As you can see, I like almost half of the songs alot, and the rest are still great- on the 1st soundtrack, I only liked 3 songs- one of them was Harry's Wondrous World, WHICH IS ON THIS CD, so get it, get it, IF YOU ARE A FAN OF JOHN WILLIAMS, A HARRY POTTER FAN, OR A FAN OF CLASSICAL MUSIC, OR IF YOU LIKED THE FIRST SOUNDTRACK AT ALL!!!! gO GET IT
