Free Music Notes for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

Free Music Review: Not 100% Original but 100% Great
Hit: 5 Stars

As a Williams fan, I know lots of his recent music. Harry Potter is a nice re-make of Hook. It isn't exactly a copy of Hook since the themes are entirely different. But the mood of the music reminds us Hook's magic. But since both movies are about some magic, it's not Williams' fault to do so. But there is a passage which is "taken" from "The Lost World" 12th. track. So, it's maybe the first time I hear Williams borrow his own music. But that doesn't make the album like Horner albums. It's a small passage and lots of people won't even catch it. But anyway, I would rate this album 4.5 stars but not 4.
So, definitely buy this one if you like Williams. It's 100% Williams and the "Hedwig's Theme" will surely catch you. It's really a great musical journey. Don't miss it.

Free Music Review: Williams does it again
Hit: 5 Stars

I think four and a half stars would have been more appropriate.

John Williams' score for the ultra-popular Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is quite worth buying. Magic exudes from every track, and listening to each theme, I can easily visualize the corresponding scenes. It takes a master composer to truly pull this off.

One thing I fault Williams for: lack of creativity. Some people might go off on a limb and call it expanded style, and I can see where they're coming from, but while listening to this soundtrack before seeing the movie, I couldn't help but think of other movies with similar themes. It's like seeing cameo appearances of Home Alone, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, and ET. Fun, but faintly irritating.

A great soundtrack, and I highly recommend it for purchase. :)

Free Music Review: Cousin Harry Potter
Hit: 5 Stars

The soundtrack for all of the Harry Potter movies has been done by classical maestro and 20th century genius John Williams.

Q; Does John WIlliams make any bad music?
A: No.

Q: Does the music capture the feeling of the movie, taking you back to parts of the story sequentially?
A: Yes

Q: What are the other advantages to buying the soundtrack?
A: Aestetically, you are not competing with the visual imagery of the movie, which was technically well done and highly engaging. This provides an opportunity to explore the nuances of the musical score, without being visually distracted.

This also provides a nice day dreaming interlude for youth, who are highly structured and overprogrammed nowadays.

Free Music Review: DAZZLING!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is the best soundtrack I have ever listened to. Before I got this CD, I had no idea who John Williams was. Now after listening to this, I have listened to the music for E.T., Star Wars, and Indiana Jones, all of which are masterpieces and by John Williams. I simply love how he can get you involved with beautiful music like Christmas and Harry's Wonderful World, scary music like The Face of Voldemort, and somewhere in between like Quidditch. My personal favorites are The Chess Game, Christmas, Quidditch, and Mr. Longbottom Flies. I loved this music so much, that I went and saw the movie four times so I could invision Neville Longbottom soaring through the air or Harry, Ron, and Hermione playing chess. John Williams is an excellent composer and I hope to hear more from him.
