Free Music Notes for Jurassic Park: Original Motion Picture SoundtrackFree Music Review: Very moving and almost spiritual music Hit: 5 StarsIf someone ask's you why you think made John Williams so great. Ask them to hum out any piece of music from almost any movie... 90 chances out of 100, it will be from one of the following: Jaws, Superman, Star Wars, Indiana Jones or Jurassic Park or something derrived from or artistically similar to one of those themes. Even the Star Trek franchise couldn't have survived...or rather revived without John Williams. Okay, I know that John Williams didn't write a note of music for Trek...but think about it, the Motion Picture was supposed to be an answer to...Star Wars, and thusly the music was made to sound similar to the themes of Star Wars. The music from Jurassic Park almost instantly became one of the most recognizable themes just over 10 years ago from this writing (June 9, 1993 marked the opening of the movie) and 10 years later, fans of the movie still thrill over watching the kids (Ariana Richards & Joseph Mazzello) get chased around the island in the visual medium, and my belief is that the movie wouldn't have been as good without two things: the beautifully played out looks of terror on Ariana's face and of course the background music to pace the entire things.
Free Music Review: One of the greatest film scores - Worth your money Hit: 5 StarsJohn Williams's score to Jurassic Park is certainly one of my all time favorite film scores. From the creepy percussive and choral opening all the way to the last few minutes of the film, this soundtrack shines. Many people who enjoy this soundtrack would be shocked to learn that it wasn't nominated for an Oscar in 1993. Actually, John Williams was already nominated for Schindler's List, which ended up winning. The themes in this film are really fantastic. There are a few which anyone will recognize after hearing this album: 1) Main theme developed through the film - This is a pretty simple theme, but one of Williams's best. The amazing aspect of it is that if this film hadn't been made, and just this piece had been written, no one would have heard it and thought "Dinosaurs, obviously!" However, this theme transforms the film and the idea of Jurassic Park to a glorious place of wonder, and very effectively. This theme is especially poignant at the end when Dr. Grant leaves the island on a helicopter and looks out the window at Jurassic Park. 2) Journey to the Island theme - the most thrilling and exciting theme of the film, this dramatic march once again exhibits the glory of Jurassic Park. The soaring horn and trumpet parts give you goosebumps. 3) Dennis Steals the Embryo - this theme really builds up the tension in the movie. The really horrifying music like this changes the villians in this film- evil does not exist in the recreated animals themselves, but instead within the greedy people trying to rip off the park. 4) High Wire Stunts - I will always remember sitting in the movie theater with my heart pounding during this scene of the film when Dr. Grant and the kids try to get over the electric fence without getting shocked. Everyone in the theater was squirming in their seats- and the music heightens it with an excellent effect. In conclusion, this soundtrack is just great. It exemplifies John Williams's powerful influence on a Spielberg film.

Free Music Review: Williams's last really GREAT score for a Spielberg film Hit: 5 StarsIf we were still flying under the "Union Jack", John Williams would certainly be knighted by now. Contemporaries Elmer Bernstein and Jerry Goldsmith only rival his contribution to motion pictures. But, that withstanding, his score for "Jurassic Park" remains one of the maestro's most dynamic, poetic, and challenging accomplishments. The "Theme from Jurassic Park", while slightly pompous, still projects the massive scope of the scientific and entertainment complexity of the story line. Interspersed throughout the score, the familiar melody adds equal parts of drama and pathos. One of the best cuts is the excitingly menacing "Dennis Steals the Embryo", heard as the treacherous park employee absconds with his booty and meets his end. "Eye to Eye" and "T-Rex Rescue and Finale" are also thrilling pieces that musically capture the onscreen tension and danger. Williams has never put to paper more awesome "little black dots".
Free Music Review: Jurassic Park: Greatest soundtrack of all time Hit: 5 StarsThis soundtrack is definatly the best I've ever heard. It is the soundtrack that got me interested in movie soundtracks. It has the greatest theme I've ever heard. Sadly the theme wasn't used much in the second film, but in the third it was back and it sounded better than ever.I definatly recommend this soundtrack to fans of the movie, fans of John Williams, and fans of movie soundtracks because this is the best one out there.
