Johnny Adams had a voice that was powerful, sensual, and silky smooth. Doc Pomus wrote great songs. What a combination! This is another fantastic CD by Johnny Adams, this time with backup by Dr. John on keyboards, Duke Robillard on guitar, and a horn section. Every song is great, what more could you want in a CD? I love all of Johnny's stuff, from the very earliest to the last stuff he recorded, it is interesting to monitor his growth and direction as a singer, his choice in material, throughout his career. You can always feel the spirit of New Orleans in his music.
