Free Music Review: GOOD BUT NOT GREAT
Hit: 2 Stars

I saw a video on Youtube of Jonas Kaufmann singing Mozart and I really liked it so I decided to purchase this CD. Unfortunately, this CD was not as good as I thought it would be. He sounds pretty good in the German repertoire. I really liked the WEBER and the WAGNER but the italian selections are a bit hit and miss. In the Italian selections his voice is not really that appealing except in the high notes which sound good. And when he signs piano it sounds really odd. Don't know it just doesn't work for me, maybe he had a bad day while he was recording this. Also, it just might be a voice that sounds better live than in the recording studio. Who knows.
